A question as we gather more experiences with this tire: are you running the P or LT version of the Outpost AT?
late late reply to this data gathering question... LT

Tires are still great, though not a lot of use over this past winter... sad face

Hoping to get a trail run in at some point this summer....

Oh wow, were the LTs just too stiff? I’m loving these tires — running factory spec 29/32 but I have done 34 all around, not much difference. My fuel mileage has stayed the same as well. I think this is a great tire size for the 100 series, looks just big enough.
Just went with P rated for similar reasons as you. Lighter, don’t need the extra load capabilities for now, size seems perfect, and couple hundred dollars cheaper.

Thanks everyone else for the intel shared.

Well the new shoes are strapped on and so far feeling awesome. Only ride so far was Denver City streets for 25 minutes but they handled great and absorbed cracks/potholes better than the LTX Defender m/s that came off.

This is the comparison I was waiting for. I went from Nitta Ridge Grapplers to Michelin Defender M/S (both E rated) and the difference in comfort and noise reduction is day and night! I didn't think any tire could improve upon the Defenders!

I was on P rated 265/65/18 defenders oem wheels and inherited them with I think at least 20k miles on them(maybe 30k). So maybe not a perfect comparison but the compound on the nATs seem nice a soft compared to other ATs.

Also, my sample size is extremely small so far.

Will report back on highway, curvy foothill roads and dirt soon enough though.

Really tested out the new tires this past weekend on highway, curvy turns, dirt roads and even trail.
Everything about them seem great or not notable as compared to the older Defenders except for MAYBE faster/sharper highway curves in the 50-65mph range heading up and down from the mountains.

Ended up on a tight, jagged rocks, and off camber(at times) trail and I was amazed how much of a beast the car and tires performed. All though this is my first “high clearance” car with AT tires. I would not have felt comfortable doing this on my smaller and slightly worn down defenders.

We were camping near Kenosha pass, CO and got hit with a 45 minute heavy hail storm upon pitching our tent.

Luckily, we had LeXy for our activity.

This will be her deepest water crossing that she will ever do. First and last haha.

Can’t wait to put these on later in the summer. This thread has been super beneficial. I’m also in Denver area, near CR. Please keep us updated as others have.

Just put a set of 275/65R18 Outpost nAT’s on my ‘02 because I wanted something lighter and cheaper while retaining the durability, performance, and aesthetics of the KO2’s. So far the biggest differences I’ve noticed are:
1) There less road texture transmitted into the cabin, likely due to the more flexible sidewalls of a P-metric tire versus an LT. Between the additional sidewall squish and moving to a 32” tire, the ride feels more compliant.
2) The road noise is less noticeable, although I only measured a ~1 dB difference. That’s expected; moving from tires that were about 7 years old and 6/32 tread depth. Although they both have an AT tire hum, the Outpost’s is more pleasant.
3) I’ve only driven on dry and wet pavement in the week-and-a-half since installation. The Outposts seem less skittish on wet roads, which is a welcome change from the KO2’s.

Looking forward to getting these tires off road in a couple weeks to see what they can really do.

Thanks for the feedback.

Do you mind specifically comparing the KO2s to the nATs?

I'm presently running the KO2s - which are about done - and am planning to replace them in the fall. Thanks!

I Had KOs on my jeeps. s***tiest tires ever made. Not sure what all the hype is all about with KOs, the looks i think. They sucked in rain were crap in mud, and were ok in other stuff, just ok. Overpriced garbage.

Good i found this tread. Was going to go with Wildpeak atw4 for my LX570. I always used nokian tyres on my passenger vehicles, wrg4s,g3s, Hakkapelitas etc.... best all weather, winter tyres period.

Will have to look into getting nATs in 275/60/20. will post pictures if i do.

Looking good. Nokian has stepped up with their latest round of tires and push into the US market....I run their HTs on my Lexus and their studded winter tires on my highlander.

I'm going to ditch the bfgs and go for a set of these on my next go around for the cruiser .

Called Discount Tire this week, hoping to find out when Nokian is going to stock 275/70R18.

They reached out to Nokian. Apparently, this size isn't going to be available until February.

Kind of disappointed since I was planning on getting a set this fall.

We just put that size KO3s on my son's 2004 land cruiser and they ride great. Took a trip in it last weekend, very, very quiet and comfortable on the road, I was really impressed. We did some trails at a park outside of Birmingham and they never broke traction.

That's the direction I was planning on going @Couvi until I learned about the Nokian nATs.

Unfortunately, the KO2s on my LC aren't suitable for winter. (They're really worn and on their last legs.)

So I'm probably going to check out the upcoming Discount Tire Black Friday Sale and see if they offer a sale on the KO3s. Probably no sale though.

Even with the improvements made to the KO3s for snow/rain, I hoped the Nokians were the answer.

I just can't wait that long.
