-New $OR SS Brake lines
-New TRE's
-Rebuilt front calipers
-Painted outer knuckle housings
-rebuilt and painted outer hub locks (red and black)

Still in pieces and waiting on Marlin Crawler Inner Axle seals. They must be coming on a pack mule from Cali.... Its been 9 days and they are still in transit. now just waiting for the inners then everything gets put back together.

Still to do before re-assembly.
-Paint calipers (Silver)
-Paint hubs (Black - ceramic caliper paint)
-rinse and repeat (on to the next project)

Finally got the front-end completed. Hubs are hotter than I would like after driving and think I need to un-do the hub nut and loosen.

Here is some cruiser porn!

well here is a Post christmas update.

Driving the pig to work on Monday oil pressure dropped and oil began spraying every where. Shut down waited for wife to show up. Put oil in drove .25 miles to my local mechanic. (Oil pressure stayed up).

Got report from mechanic. (time cover blown out and I'll have them replace the cam and crank seal while they are in there).

Those were on my list just not on a list where oil sprays all over the engine and front-end of the truck...

Also found where my DS hard brake line was krimped and thus causing my brakes to hang. Purchased a new hard line and will install once I get Sandy bag in the pig pen... Then brakes will be completely done!!!

This will be a lot of labor for a new gasket...
While they are in there, make sure the oil squirter is not bottomed out and causing the plate to pull away from the block. If it is, you will be plagued by a small, annoying oil leak.
Also, when I was in fixing the above mentioned leak on my 2F, I replaced the slotted machine screws that secure the cam plate with the 3fe screws that I believe are Allen head.

4.2 to be exact. I'll speak with the shop once they sort the parts. :)

4.2 hours? That does not sound bad...
The radiator has to come out, so if you think it needs a trip through the hot tank, this is a good time to do so...

Here we go!

How about a new water pump, easy to do now and you know the old one will start leaking or squealing, right after you finish the job.

New belts, hoses and thermostat.

Pablo is right, something to think about.

well got the old girl back from the shop 3 weeks ago. $900 later she is oil tight. That same evening I pulled the old weber off and started to install my new trollhole carb.

This is where the fun begins.

What I did not know is that you need a new adapter from $OR and I grabbed a set of OEM linkage from another pig of the same vintage yet I left 1 little piece so again a call to $OR and 25 later and I should have what I need.

In the mean time I've had some fun and not so fun changes happening in my life:
-wife and I are expecting our 3rd child (good news)
-I've gotten sick, hospitalized, and now out but still trying to recover. (bad news)

the sickness has sapped my energy level and thus the pig sits in the garage waiting for her linkage to arrive and get all bolted up.

Once she is running again I am taking her to the upholstery shop to get new foam, door panels, fabric, and carpet installed!

Ready to have comfortable bench seats rather than the springs I currently sit on.

Just pray the health improves as 2 active little girls and one on the way has a way of focusing one on what is important.

Well no pics for now as there is nothing of substance to look at however I am ready to run my 55 again.

Congratulations on the addition. Three is a good number.

Hope everything is on the mend and you are right, how health has a way of putting everything else in perspective. The cruiser can wait, but nothing like a new seat!

God's speed on your recovery,

Ron

Thanks Ron.

One day at a time however any day I can post on mud and spend time with my family is a day that I blessed beyond all measure.

update:

I am feeling great and was able to get some work done on the pig.

-Finally installed new trollhole carb
-installed factory linkage
-rattle canned the factory air cleaner
-set idle
-new fuel filter
-new fuel line
-took her for a drive!!!

Feel great having her running again.

Now I am going to tear the interior apart and have it re-done (professionally)

Wow those brakes look really nice. I am getting ready to do a swap myself and just about have all the parts I need.
I believe you bought the pig with the disc brakes already there. Is there anything though that you wish was done a little differently?? Or are you pretty happy with the current set up??

Great looking rig.

Peter

love the setup the way it is. Maybe a H55 however its not high enough to warrant the expense IMHO.

power steering is something that would be nice however its not really needed. you just get used to cranking on the wheel around the parking lot.

Thanks Pathfinder. My steering will be done in a week and I am really looking forward to it. The brakes I am doing for a couple reasons. Not the least of which Is the city driving I will be doing with it. Trying to initiate a panic stop with all the nut ball drivers in town is impossible at present. And I know if I tag someone even in the least, it will be lawsuit city. (Also why I use dash cams on all my vehicles)

Anyway you got a great looking pig and appreciate all the great photos.

you will love the discs. Word to wise. Just buy a new set of loaded calipers from autozone. I rebuilt mine and they still hung up. The new set were cheep and they work great with no hang-ups. Plus it is a lot less work. :hillbilly:
