Holy **** I did it to myself again. I promised myself that I would never get another project car, but here I am a "proud" owner of a 1973 FJ55.

I know next to nothing about the FJ55. Any help and advice is welcome. I will post more specs once I learn more about it.

Needs a little love, but does look rather pristine from the outside. How's it drive?

Engine smooth, idle is good, clutch may need work in about 5,000 miles, but overall very pleased with it.

I'll need to get used to the hydraulic clutch though.

Great looking rig. And major congrats.

As you work on your new ride, this forum is a MONSTER of information. Tons of information on past threads will get you far. I actually use google to search topics here and it helps sift down to the great posts on here.

Enjoy your new 55!!

What makes you say that? Good news is, the clutch discs rarely wear out and the hydraulics are very easy to rebuild.

Whadya mean? Haven't driven a stick shift in awhile? I noticed this one up for sale on CL awhile ago and thought it might be a winner. Show us some photos of the front floor pans and rust free dog legs if you want to make everyone envious. ;)

Clutch:

The previous owner said that is probably what he would work on next.

Yes I have not driven a stick in a while. Specially not the hydraulic clutches.

The vehicle is pretty rust free and the interior is in pretty good shape. The drive side floor board needs some TLC.

I will post more pictures this week.

Thanks for the wonderful welcome.
