Guys I got a unicorn top plate no internal shift fork assembly. I purchased a new H55f and was able to use all existing shift fork assembly parts minus two small parts. I searched heaven and earth and the two unique parts could not be found. Took this to my local shop and they spec'd the two needed shift fork parts and Had them machined. Call James or Ian at R&R off-road at 719 465 4594 if you have an empty 40 top plate but a new H55F.

would you happen to have a complete diagram or know where I can get one for the h55f. and since I am wanting to use it on a late model 60 will I just use a standard top plate?

This is an exploded diagram of a late H55F out of a 70 series with a 3b diesel. The input shaft on the transmission would of course be fine spine vs a 2F version, but the top plate assembly with the rear positioned shifter location would be correct for a 40 series. There are others out here in MUD that know more, so let them chime in to provide corrections.

I think this is the part number of just

the top cover

Might pick up the torch on this effort and bring to the market. I follow MUD member graciously allowed me to borrow his top cover do I could get it laser scanned with precision about 0.115mm.

Before anyone asks, NO the 3D cad is not for sale. To do this right so that everyone in the MUD community has confidence with this effort, I will work with only @orangefj45 on this development effort.

I am investigating tooling opportunities in Taiwan (not China) and identified a caster who actually is the ODM supplier for aluminum front wheel drive transmission housings for Toyota products that are manufactured in Taiwan. So high confidence in Quality.

It will be a few weeks before I get a detailed quote to understand the capital outlays. If this becomes out of my league financially where I don't think I can break even, I will transfer the 3D CAD to OrangeFJ45 at zero cost so that he can carry the torch.

Thanks
Ernie

My guess would be about $799 starting off at the beginning and ramp down to $549 to 599 range.

There is a lot of secondary CNC that will be needed and angle drilling in at least 2 spots

The reason I think Orange is the perfect fit is because people who go to Georg are serious and have the money to pay him 4200-4400 for a new 5 speed + split case setup. So another 600 to 800 bucks for these people for this option is just part of the entry fee to do things right.

Geeez this dream keeps getting more and more expensive.......but I want I want I want

Oh the price is understandable. Its just that the total cost of building my dream rig keeps climbing. I just paid, gladly, $425.00 for a set of jump seats that need a complete refurbishment. The thought of having 5000-5200 in a transmission alone is a LARGE pill to swallow.
