Christo is the first one to mention what i think is the biggest thing a company has to deal with... "insurance and liability"... That is the one single thing that stopped me from starting a business building bumpers and other stuff for cruisers and mini trucks in the late 90s....

In the Land Cruiser market the biggest problem is volume. There isn't enough Cruiser owners to buy a product in the numbers it would take to produce a part
as cheap as comparable items for a Jeep. The only exclusively 80 series off road
accessories truly mass produced are ARB and Kamar products. Everyone else is
building a semi custom product of less than ideal jigs and temporary set ups
designed to build 4 or 5 units at a time. The result is 25, 50 or even 100% more labor per unit than a run of 25 or 50. Cristo was being nice. Sit down with a calculator and add up the cost of doing business. In the USA a shop rate below 100 per hour won't pay for much of a shop and realistically few shops that do fab work can actually bill out a full day each day

Man, I hate it when facts get in the way of "my reality and my wants."

;)

That said, my offer still stands from above. :)

any chance these will have a step of sorts? My wife is 5'2" and these would be perfect for a truck that I'm building for us.

FWIW, I dented my pinch weld with one of the high dollar sliders mentioned above and had to break out the welder and 1/4" angle iron to stop that from happening again. So cost and weight doesn't always predict a successful design.

Because all the jackwagons want $680 for 1/4 a days labor:bang:!!!!! I REFUSE to pay the stupid high prices for sliders:censor:. I hope Phil comes thru on this & all the other guys have to lower their prices:clap:!

you must be basing that labor estimate on a 24 hr day

Sorry Phil muck up your thread your product looks very nice and def fair priced!

LFD you sound like a prick,

What do you do for a living?

How do You make money?

do you give your knowledge, experience and hard work away for free?

Do you own a business? Do you take risk with your own money,

your prob the guy at work that calls your boss an a****** cause he makes more money than you?

If your the boss your employees probably suffer...

Just sayin...

I'm a firefighter/Paramedic. I'm not a prick. I call it like I see it. I didn't muck up this thread(I was PRAISING Phil's product). I'm on many forums & the few guys in this thread, the ones crying because they got their feelings hurt, are some of the most sensitive computer ninja's I've come across. Sheesh. I voiced my opinion. Like it or not, it's merely my opinion & you shouldn't let your life evolve around what some person on the internet says or thinks about you or anybody you consider to be greatness. Grow the 'F' up.

I came from the Jeep world and have bought sliders for three Jeep and now one 80. The only slider for the Jeep that was designed properly were my AEV/ARB sliders which were mounted to the rocker instead of the frame. They held up fine on Prichett Canyon. The sliders on my Liberty were "Jeep cheap" which means they came bare metal, no directions, and missing hardware. Shipping and handling was equivalent to Slee but anyone that has ever ordered from Slee knows how well things are shipped. My MT sliders are great but do hang down lower than I like and are more than I really need. I can't wait to see this design and the price sounds awesome.

One more time.......when can I buy one?

Wife got a brand new mini van so I can take off the steps now!

And in case I forgot to ask, when can I get a set??????????
