FWIW - I wanted to wait till we made our production run was done but we have been testing our prototypes for both 80 & 100. We are happy with our design and in process of putting together a production run for 80 and 100.

Less expensive rock rails come to people that can wait.;)

We are shooting for $300 shipped. Production to begin next week:cool:

Any pictures of final product? If it can be used as a side step then I am in as well!

Thanks

More pictures Phil !

From our testing a slide step will not hold up with this style of mounting.:frown: What our does is offer is clean, light, and affordable protection for the 80 and 100 series.

Stay tuned for more pictures and information just around the corner

If anyone wants to change sliders, please PM me if you're willing to sell your old ones. Thanks.

I'm still up for seeing what Phil's finished product looks like, but based on the pics I've seen I might want a bit more protection. I'll wait to see the finished product.

Visited Randy Ellis Design last week and he seems up for making a set for the 80. The capability of CAD design, a CNC plasma and a good size press break are far beyond what I could build with a simple tube slider (Like the set I built for my old 4runner). It all depends on what the final weight, protection and most importantly cost ends up as.

I think Westy and I may drop by again next week to see what he can do and at what cost. He hasn't had any trouble putting side steps on the sliders for other trucks with the way these attach so that could be another plus to his design. They attach at two points along the rocker so you have 2 lines of bolts to hold it all in place. (From the ones I was able to check out so far)

Looking forward to figuring this out!!

To follow up with Tim's explanation and provide everyone a better understand of exactly how the rocker protection works that we are envisioning this picture should illustrate. These fit the 5th gen 4runner but the idea is basically the same. Maximize clearance, lighter weight vs. weld/bolt type, strength and extended coverage protection further with optional additional protection/step available.
