LC250 with 8 speed use 3.538

So in reality a LC250 owner couldn't just swap to the 9.5 rear axle and be done with it. One would need the front diff as well. And the ratios are worse, so you'll definitely be re-gearing. That's going to be a big investment.

For reference, to purchase a new rear axle housing and the differential carrier for a 2014 Tacoma, it costs $2500 ($1250 ea).

We don't know what ratio the 4Runner will officially have yet nor do we know what a future trim LC250 could have ratio-wise with a 9.5" if it comes to fruition. For anyone building a vehicle that is worried about breaking an 8.2", swapping gears and/or the front diff (locking at the same time) is really a minor nuance. We sell loads of brand new complete 3.9 diffs for the 200 Series for example.
