Hello and thanks for the add to the group. I just picked up a 1977 FJ40 this past Saturday and got it home safely although the wind and weather made it a struggle here on the East Coast. She has a Chevy SB 350, TH350 AT, power steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, and mini truck tilt steering column. Body and frame are really good; top is decent but will need some love. Comes with the ambulance doors that have already been painted, all the glass, new seals and plenty of parts. It has a heater installed in the cab but it is not hooked up. Is there a thread that shows a V8 water inlet/outlet set up and if there is a valve that needs to be installed so I don't have hot water coming in year-round? Any help is appreciated. Glad to be owning (soon to be driving) my dream vehicle and being part of this group.

Welcome. Looks Nice

There should be a valve to turn off/on the hot coolant to the heater(s) - if not you could put one in. Yours likely had a cable controlled unit mounted on the fire wall - mine is a manual valve mounted in the head for the stock I6.

Hey Paul, no he didn't have the floorboards but I have a new pair ordered. As far as I can tell, the floorboards mount to the front bracket and then get bolted in down the side below the door? Let me know if I'm tracking correctly.

Ha! I have a bit of OCD that keeps getting worse with age. The FIRST thing I saw when I found this FJ online was that the bezel was upside down. The FIRST thing I did when I got it home and, in the garage, (at 16 degrees) was flip the bezel. More pics......

Yes, and one bolt at the front of the running board to the lower rear of the front fender.

Welcome in the never ending project of custom fj40 .

all you need is the factory heater valve on firewall.

Look like the wipper motor cover is upside down .

If you plan topless summer driving , it will smell gas big time with exhaust exit in the back like this.
Jim,
Thanks for the welcome. To my knowledge the wiper motor cover is installed correctly (flat side down, seal goes over the top).

Any suggestions on where to buy a replacement rain gutter for the roof? Any companies out there making them still? Looks like I need to brush up on my riveting skills.
Don't know if it's any good so this is not an endorsement.
