The shop that installed my suspension told me my power steering was leaking and would need to be replaced . I decided to take it to the dealership, as an employee they discount the labor rate to $40.00 per hour. I also save on the cost of the rack.
Everything is button back together and working great.
Our Alignment specialist has refused to work on my truck because of the adjustable control arms but he tackled it today to my surprise.

I was also able to finish the extension of the plate I built for the fridge. I think I overdid the L-track but I had quite a bit sitting around …I also plan on running two strips in the area next to the fridge. I need to trim the footer on the left section so it sits absolutely flush

So adding the Slee Suspension really changed the ride…comparable to AHC.
Adding the extended sway bar links which brings the sway bar back to normal allowed way to much lean in corners and side to side body motion which is one reason I would never buy a 200 and run the OEM suspension.
So searching heavy duty sway bars brought me to SuperPro. Made in Australia but also sold stateside. Came with new bushings and the bar is much larger than stock. I just drove it a few blocks and the new sway bars really controls body motion. The only issue is the rear sway bar is just touching the suspension boot… something I’ll have to watch. That rusty muffler is getting replaced with a new OEM next week.

Silly question: How are the extension platforms secured down to the truck? If a load secured to your L-track was properly motivated wouldn't it just take the platform with it? I've been thinking about a modified plate that replaces the plastic step your platform is resting on with an aluminum one with 1-2 recessed D-rings just for this type of setup. Or maybe a custom bracket that pokes a d-ring out from under the cosmetic shroud on the outside of the 2nd row seat hinges?

P.s. Glad I found your build thread! Keep the mods coming so we can just copy you. Hahaha

The extensions are not secured to the truck and I do I need to figure that out.

What do they charge for a service like that?

Wow! What all is involved in this process?
Removal of suspension, sway bars, and everything you don’t want painted.
Degrease and power wash chassis and internal frame where accessible. Wire wheel, and wire brush any surface rust. Rust encapsulator internal frame and exterior then paint with chassis black. My LX wasn’t that bad but I’m replacing the gas tank skid plate which had a few small rust holes

Each job is based on the condition of your truck. Prices range from $2000-$4000. This cost me $2800 and I bought extra rust encapsulator so they applied 4 coats of encapsulator. The pictures above are just with the encapsulator. They still have to do a chassis paint, which is the final coat. The internal frame treatment is a slightly different product.

Oooh...sweet. Are you going to pick a fun color for the final coat? Fluorescent Green or something to help you find parts you unintentionally leave behind on the trail? Or to attract rescuers if you roll? I'm kidding, of course...but might be fun!

By the way, I'm still in love with the MLED2.0 retrofit you helped me with. Hands-down the best time/money spend on my rig so far.

Wow! Looks like they do a great job. Do you normally have this done prior to every winter?

No, this is a permanent solution and should last for years. If you look up Eastwood Products they have a full variety of chassis and frame treatment products.

I drove around for more than a year with a Scheel-Mann seat installed on the drivers side which was a welcome relief to my sciatic nerve which was cause by the OEM seats in my LX and finally got the passenger side Scheel-Mann installed with all seat belt warning and air bag lights off on both sides. The guys at IPOR also wired the heated seats to the factory switches.

@Luke111 are they XXL model? Do they have airbags?
I have seat jackers, which help but this would be the ultimate solution for tall guys or someone with lower back issues.

It is not the XXL just the standard Vario F. They do not have side air bags

Well Lou’s green Machine is Now an Idahoan! After my son totaled my 2004 LX, I was being a smart ass and sent Lou a picture of my wrecked 04 and said I might need new headlights. Of course Lou laughed and said he literally just posted his 06 LX for sale on Mid 5 minutes before I sent him the pic.

I know Lou does his upgrades right and take care of his cars so I felt really comfortable buying it and shipping it sight unseen. I am going to continue this thread as I have some other upgrades in mind for the new 06. Going to try and continue building it as an overlander.

My 04 LX had the Nav delete
Completed on it. I think I was the 2nd or 3rd in the US to fully complete the Nav delete. JerryB and I became fast buddies since I was calling him so much. I’ve already messaged him and since the 06 LX has a 6/05 production date we believe I should be able to just move my complete system over to the 06. I will update as I go.

Lou also purchased all the computers and parts needed to do the Nav delete but just hadn’t gotten around to doing it yet. If mines moves over as we think it will, I will have a complete set of parts to complete the Nav delete on an 03 to 06 Lx for sale. 😃

1st order of business is to correct the speedometer. It reads 6 mph slow because Lou put 35’s on it. I did the same with my 04LX using the yellow box speedometer corrector. I took it off my 04LX and it was a simple plug and play on the 06LX. One minor adjustment and the speedometer now reads correctly according to GPS.
