I need help finding a supplier for the grommets with a long neck that fit in the bottom of the windshield frame on my 79 FJ40. I believe they are called “sleeved grommets.” See the picture below. They protect the wiper motor wires and windshield washer water line on the passenger side and the dome light wire on the driver’s side. The grommets should be rubber and fit a 7/8” hole and the sleeve should be at least an inch long.

I’ve spent several hours looking for these buggers on the web and the only supplier that seems to have anything close are in the UK. If someone could point me to a US based supplier or recommend a alternative solution I’d be grateful.

Still available through Toyota: 82818-90300 (replaces 82818-60010), list price $18.47 each, but you should be able to get a MUD discount.

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me how and where you were able to locate the part number?

The first diagram shows a circled "6" and the second diagram, with the table, shows the corresponding part number. You can do a Google search on the part number, and usually www.toyotapartsdeal.com comes up first. If the number's been updated that website will show what part number(s) it replaced. A lot of times it'll also show the Toyota applications, model and year range.

Well, now it's showing as a discontinued part. Even though it shows on a handful of Toyota dealership web pages, that doesn't mean it's still available. That's where a call or visit to a dealership parts counter comes in handy.

Great Help! Can you tell me where you found the graphics and parts list at?
Here's where I go:

But I usually also do a Google search on the part number to see if it's been superceded with a new part number before calling American Toyota to place an order. The guys at the parts counter are very helpful, but it makes ordering easier if I do some searching ahead of time and get as close to the latest part number, now that Cdan has retired.

"But I usually also do a Google search on the part number" - That has been the problem all along. I purchased all of the manuals I could find when I started this project but none of them, including the Toyota repair manuals, list the part numbers.

Make your own if you can't find them. Find a grommet that is correct and simply glue a piece of tube on to it.
That's basically what I did when fabricating a custom grommet for running a new subharness for my transfer case indicator lights for my '86 FJ60 project. I fed the new subharness through the oval opening in the firewall at the previous location of the throttle linkage (I'm installing a 3FE, H55f, and FJ62 transfer case), so the opening was begging to be used :). I found that an oval hole plug from my '09 Silverado was a good fit, so I drilled a hole in the center and inserted an appropriately sized grommet, along with a short section of rubber vacuum hose:
