I failed on the odometer unstick.....lol. I will pull it back out and play some more. In the meantime, I have been addressing a few issues and driving it more frequently. Added a side view mirror. Not the correct vintage, but its's all oem stuff.

The weather is now perfect for a topless Cruiser. Good times

From 9/67 on OEM mirrors were on the doors. Even the FST with the easy to remove soft doors only side mirrors were on the doors. Never see any listing for a windshield hinge mounted mirror. E-9/67 there was only a driver's side mirror mounted to the A pillar. Crazy as that seems that the way is was. So without doors it is on the windshield hinge or drill holes in the A pillar. Think you made the wise choice.

Here's the numbers for the mirror arm and head. I like this style best.

Another 40 build in the queue, eh? :clap:

(If that passenger seat frame bottom has the metal pan in reasonable shape and is not going to be used, I know a place it could be used)

The name of this thread is my Tucson 40s. Did you not notice I bought 2 about this time last year.
Anyways, if I don't use the seat parts....you'll be first in line for those pieces.

Amazing build. How did you refurb the selectro hubs? I have the same ones and would like to do the same.

Did you wipe the letters off with something?

Got a few more goodies from Mr T.
::(:

The front drums and shoes on the 40 were used ones I had in stock. They stop okay but make some bad noises occasionally. I decided to get new drums and shoes to remedy this. I also got a pair of oem visors. They look alittle weird in white with no top. They are factory stock though.

I have already been thru the brakes. I am just replacing the front drums and shoes cause I wanted new ones. They aren't that bad to work on.
The next 40 will be more of a resto mod and will get discs all round.

Got it all shined up for the Good Guys car show tomorrow. I have taken several different Cruisers to this show over the last 10 plus years. There's usually just 1 or 2 Cruisers at this show, but lots of people stop to check it out.

Car show went well. I had phone issues, so no pix. There was one other 40 there. It was Chevy swap resto mod that lacked all the original charm.

I got the wiper assembly installed. One less thing on the work bench. :grinpimp:
