Cheers

Are there seat covers in there too??

Frank and guys, do you think is convenient that frank starts a thread about next years Colombian expedition? would it be helpful to have one?
I could post pics of the possible places to visit as i am on the road often, we can have questions and worries answered prior to the beggining of the trip. if there is anything i can help you with just let me know.

:steer:
Please do. This will help convince more people to go in subsequent years, and it can truly become an annual expedition (I'm hoping for 2017 myself).

Also please post a like to that thread here so we can all find it.

Interested in joining up for next year. If there's a limit you should run a lottery to see who gets to go.

I'm interested in learning from you Frank how you feel the truck is running and performing now that you're manual. I intend to keep my1FZE and it would be good know how its performing. Do you need the 4.88's?

I am thinking in doing an annual lottery for the 5 or so spots. That would make it very prestigous.

As for the 5 speed I can honestly say gearing is not needed.. i love driving my 80 and the 35s are not felt with a manual. I opted in not installing the gears. Another great reason to get a 5 speed. And one other thing I dont know if this has any meaning behind it. But my rig runs a lot cooler without the automatic. The whole entire time in over 90 degree weather and pushing it hard the rig stayed in the 195 range. Food for thought.

I am in the airport in Cartagena on my way back to the Miami. I have boots on the ground getting everything organized for shipment. I have a fj55 body, a used 82 fj40 tub, a whole bunch of sub tanks getting prepped for shipment to Cartagena where they will be loaded up. My rig is in Cartagena awaiting for everything to arrive. Seat covers should arrive on Tuesday along with the remaining leathet kits.

Cheers my mudmigos!!

Very good news. Hope you have safe travels back. It's been fun following along

I am thinking of going with 35s for this very reason after the swap. Would there be room for debate whether or not fuel efficiency would be better with the 33s and high RPMs or 35s with lower RPMs on the highway?

And I also noticed a huge difference in engine temp, especially my EGTs. They are much lower, especially on the hills. You also run significantly cooler when making the rig move at a constant speed since you're not running that god awful ATF pump ;)

Putting in the 5 spd is basically a regearing. There shouldn't be any need to regear anything else. On 35s my rpms went from about 2000 at 100kph with the auto up to 2400.

Hmmm I have 4.88's so now I think I have to go to 37's

Gasp! Does this mean john is convinced to do 5 speed swap?

Creo que unas vacaciones en el que podía tener a alguien instalarlo para mí sería increíble

@FloridaFJ80 If you don't mind disclosing, what did that 5 speed swap run you out the door?

Agreed. And I'm sure I wasn't the only guy that needed Google Translate to understand what you said. lol
