nice color,,,I had mine the same..it lasted only through the summer if its etching primer green ? although it fits the look,,I wish we could find the same color paint in a rattle can as well,,,,the olive color is darker an the kmart brand is lighter.....I like the look of your rig man,,keep up the good job....CHEERS
 
I just painted mine in a PPG two pack of Olive drab with a sh!tload of added flattener. Mine seems alot greener though...

Thanks again guys for the feedback. I never would have got this far with out the Mud forum.

No updates to post right now as work on my hardtop has stalled. I'm afraid I missed my goal of getting it on before the snow as right now it is sitting under a foot of it. As soon as the holidays are over I'll start work on the top and the re-wire, so wish me luck with that.

Hard Top!

Time for an update. Hard top is back and looking pretty good :). I confess that I did not paint the inside of the hard top, its still a stock green color. Nor did I get a headliner installed which I had originally hoped to do before mounting it up...oh well :meh:. The weather has been tough and I got tired of waiting for warm days to work on it. However, I did manage to spend quality time on the fiberglass cap. It had a lot of scratches and shallow gouges, fortunately a very solid piece overall. I skimmed all these areas with filler and spent a lot of time sanding. I shot it in some white primer and am planning to ultimately get it into cygnus white - maybe when I take it back off for summer. I did install new weatherstrip between the hard top and tub and a new gasket around the hatch door. It now rides sooooo much quieter than before! I wasn't sure how the white cap would look with all the other black accents on the truck but I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

The truck is also re-wired. I bought the 21 circuit harness from ez-wiring that has a total of 18 fuses and the GM connector for the column to replace my original harness which was in really bad shape. Sorry, Coolerman and OEM purists....the thing was too far gone to save. In hindsight I should have gone for just the 12 circuit harness. I figured I needed at least 15 circuits in total because of the TBI system but it probably would have been easier to just run a seperate fuse panel under the hood. The truck lived at my Dad's house for about 3 weeks and we chipped away at it most every night after work. His help was invaluable. All in all it was a straight forward job that just required patience and a little thought. I am super stoked to have everything functioning correctly. Yes, turn signals, reverse light (on a toggle), dome light, heater, wipers....damn nice! I have been driving it everyday since getting these things done. :)

Sorry to say I took very few pics of the hard top resto and none of the re-wire. You will have to be satisfied with a few "after" poser shots. Enjoy!

Couple more.

Dash guage lights and turn signal indicators! These have never worked in the time that I've owned it.

Also a new reverse light and license plate light!
