I've been wanting to get a Troopy for a long time now. Their biggest draw is the massive amount of storage in the cargo area. I don't like leaving my expensive mountain bikes on the hitch carrier during the work day thinking someone could easily steal them. I've tried to make Betty White (HZJ80) work with the installation of a slideout rear drawer, but I hated removing the front wheel to do it. Pics of the 80 with my drawer setup.
Cleaning behind the dash. That fesh-fesh crap really dries out my hands and exacerbates my eczema. Check out the label. It's interesting to see that the stereo was assembled in the USA.
A care package from @cruiseroutfit came in, too. The front end is a bit loose and I hope this will take care of most of the issues (along with an alignment and tire balancing).
My buddy @joekatana had some new jump seats and a brown rear vinyl mat. If you ever need 70 series parts, check with Joe first. He brings in cool and hard to find stuff from Europe (including trucks).
I think I'm going to just run one or two jump seats and will build some storage cabinets.
Worked on making some new rear door panels. The flip down table was rattling like crazy before this. I used M6 threadserts to fasten them to the doors.
The short side got a Molle panel for some bags to hold a first aid kit and bike tools.
While that turned out to be a registration card from another vehicle, here is some legit provenance on your particular truck... I blacked out a bit of info so as not to publish things too personal. If you like this stuff hit me up in the DM's and I can email you all the import paperwork (unless you have all of this already).
I built this simple platform to mount the ARB fridge up tight to the wall of the Troopy. Should work. I need to run a 12V circuit to the back of the truck.
Someone needs to market a rear quarter panel accessory mount like Joey's Wit's End one for an 80. Lots of room in the rear quarter panel of the Troopy!
Still amazed by how clean the sheet metal is. Zero rust!
