The reason why Toyota uses a plastic impeller compared to this GMB one. Well, at least the GMB was made in Japan.

The rust was limited to the water pump area and impeller.

Cleaned up nicely.

I cleaned up the motor and degreased all the crud off of it and primered it.

VHT engine enamel primer.

Just a quick update. I was finally able to finish resealing the engine and tcase. Loads of new parts were used.

This thing is a heavy mofo.

I also got a different dash pad without tears from my buddy @bottombracket . I decided to design a gauge pod that has a similar foot print as the factory altimeter/gauge pod. I painted both brown (SEM Colorcoat Cordovan Brown paint).

Looks fantastic. Details on the turbo to exhaust down pipe? 3"?

The downpipe is an eBay special. Yes, it's a 3".

Next up is extending the wiring for alternator. The old 1FZ-F had the alternator on the driver side. The 1HDT has the alt on the passenger side. The plan is to splice in longer wires and buy some new pigtails.
