Oh my god. This is my nightmare. :crybaby:

Did the fire department figure out what the cause was?

My best friend aka the handbrake is doing her magic, sanding and painting the last pieces.

And a new to me set of STT, mounted by hand. Couldn't afford new and tire shop cost.
We had a blast doing it ourselves, Anette did find it pretty funny, and surprisingly amusing! ;)

They don't know much yet, there is a fire/csi team coming in to do research.
Cant understand it either. it lit up 25 hours after the last heat work in there. it happened hours before i was supposed to go home from work.
terrifying, and a cruel sight. will be months before things are cleaned up.

Thanks to my good neighbors, the house still exists. he climbed on the roof, cooling the house and himself with a garden hose waiting for fire department.
There was explosions in the shop, taking out the windows in the house, and the cladding and roof is bad.
They had to evacuate the houses and a kindergarden nearby, due to the gas tanks and all the gas tanks going off, and all the black smoke.

truly a nightmare, im still hoping to wake up from this.

Maybe MUD should have a charity drive for this? any thoughts? 5? 10? dollar donations. I'll start the ball rolling. If it works once maybe we can do it for others here in the event of catastrophes.... Or how about a MUD raffle. I'll through in a 4+ 60 rear bumper.

Thanks for your input. Im already looking for a rebound cruiser. But there is just a few bad ones for sale in norway, all rotted out.
it took me six years to get this far, and now it would have lasted a me looong time, everything was adressed.

I just donated to the couple in australia, that had their cruiser stolen and burnt, i felt so bad for them.
and then disaster hits.
I am not very good at asking or getting help from others, but in this case i think i will follow your suggestion.

Just one single thing is clear to me, I will have to get myself another cruiser.

Thanks, Dave and Johnny

I am sorry for your loss. Hard loosing a project with all the time, thought, sweat and blood that gets put into these things. I hope you will recover and continue in this passion.

Having my lunchtime Mud read and just totally lost my appetite.
The way you and your girl have worked together on that Cruiser has helped me to get my little princess more involved by showing her pics of your thread.
I have to believe good will come of this and you will find a way to move forward, no doubt with assistance from this community of Cruiser people. I'm in for donation as well, just tell me what and where I can contribute..

I'll donate / ship whatever I can to help you rebuild.

Thanks mate. I truly am grateful for friends and this community.

Oh shiiit dude, that sucks, big time. I feel sorry for you.:(

Have you take a look on Cruisers we have for sale here in Finland? A lot of good choices with cheap price.

I am searching for a new cruiser, problem is that the only money i have left is the gas money for this summers road trip.

But if you know about anything, please pm me or email me at pal.sneve@gmail.com

Yes, devastating. My good neighbors saved the house, thank god.
Check your insurance company, and make sure you at least get some sort of compensation if things go to ash.

Any help would be appreciated, i just don't know when/what/if/where/how to do what @lcwizard said about donation.

I feel amputated now, I'm sure you all can imagine the loss of a cruiser.

Sorry for your loss. It must be tough to get a perspective right now, but I think you're gonna recover and fight back and rebuild.

I don't think even fire could hurt the U-bolt Flip kits you bought . They might need a little paint though. I sent a donation to start things going.
I am still open to a raffle on the site to help out on this. I'm running the idea across to the mediators to find the best way to do this without violating
the rules of the site

Thanks Boots. Yes, it is really hard, i've always been afraid of losing my cruiser, that i would wreck it, or if it got stolen.
didn't really think about a fire, or at least tried not to. Now there is just nothing to save for parts. everything is deformed due to the heat.

So glad we started posting stuff here again, and that we could inspire someone like your princess!
I know for sure, myself and my girlfriend have had the time of our lives doing this together.
She got really interested when i showed her the community here on mud, and other overlanding shows and sites.
We had a good time looking at the show xOverland together, you should have a look.

I am trying to look at things differently, and not everything is lost. I have my cruiser knowledge and enthusiasm. And it has influenced my girls interests too, we were really looking forward to go on this summers 4 week europe tour, we planned to visit 8-10 countries, looking forward to living out of the rig and the RTT.

I was so impressed with the beefyness of your flip kit, maybe it can be saved. What about the extreme heat on the bolts and nuts? The strength of the bolts must surely be compromised?

I woke up to an e mail of your donation. You gave me tears, mate! Thank you!

what is a raffle? like a lottery?

Thanks, everyone!

So sorry to hear the news mate it's heart breaking, chin up though as another cruiser will be just around the corner.
Don't rush into anything, your mud brothers will help you find something great and we will all pitch in what we can from all corners of our great earth to get you wheeling again.

Guys can we start a new thread to get some support going here? The raffle idea is excellent, let me know if I can get any Aussie parts sent over.

I'm in for a hundred...let's get some kind of paypal account or something set up...raffle, whatever we need to do...if everybody pitches in, we can get this brother a new cruiser and get him rolling again...

Thanks for the kind words and support.
My instinct says get another cruiser asap. right now it is not possible with funding, since insurance wasnt active on this project. in less than two weeks insurance with full cover would have been in place. :bang:

i have already gotten a few good leads on a couple of 60s, mid good shape and other side of country.
the cruiser community both here in norway and the rest of mud has been great and supportive.

I am out of words... thanks. Please, give me your real names and mail addresses if this continues on, i am so grateful...:)

I was thinking I could raffle off some of my products like a rear tire carrier. the proceeds can go to your truck. I ran this and a thread about straight donations past Mace, the moderator. He saw nothing wrong with it but is running it past the management to make sure it doesn't violate any rules of the
site. If I do some kind of raffle we need to figure a way to get the information out and it would be nice if a third party could handle the sales and administration to avoid conflict of interest
