Nice vids!

Did I see you actually passed a few people :D

Sorry to hear about the Moose.

Yep, i did pass some cars and people... people slide around with bad tires, going below speed limit because they're too cheap to get good tires.
Then i pass them... ;)

That makes sense. Same thing for me when it rains here. People go 45 on the freeway. Speed limit is 60. :D

JAWC 2012

Okay, so i went snow wheeling last week... awsome. The cruiser did great, just about enough traction in moist snow to tackle anything. Last day was pretty cold again, but with a more active right foot i got around easy.
Aired down to 6psi in moist snow, 4 in powder.
Front locker beeing used well, getting to know it.

Great camp, sleeping in tents with ovens so everything was comfy in -10*c

All photos in slideshow

Flat out

Nice photos', looks like a lot of fun. I really enjoy playing in the snow.

What is your buddy's rig? Looks a bit like a Land Rover or a G Wagon, but the more I look the less I think it is either of those?

Been lazy on the 60, but tomorrow the sliders are done.
here is some in progress pix:

Something happened with the order at TG, so i got the same length as a singlecab hilux. No problem, i just put them into the DOM-stretcher.

Also decided to flip the rear end inside out, makes more sense to me, and adds more protection to body, and more step for passengers.
%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

All tacked in. Maybe they seem a bit far out, but they are flush with the upcoming OEM fender flares. Wich means half an inch inside outer wheel. Half an inch down from body, 2inch tilt up.
Good protection, and a perfect step for roof access.
Dont know yet if i will fill in plates. Will be great in winter to avoid slush, but a mess in the mud, keeping all the debris on there... we'll see.

Hilux Hijack

Some of the reason why ive been lazy on the 60, is this project.
Been thinking the cruiser shall remain on 35s, as it will stay a DD.
%255BUNSET%255D.jpg

Will be a towed rig for events in Russia and Finland. 84 Hilux 2.4 diesel.
Beefed front with ARB and 30 spline inners, longspline DS, Hydroassist and crossover, 12in travel front, 14 travel rear, spool rear, chopped frame, regeared transfer until i can get a dualcase, 40s irok. Will be caged and have a watertight compartment behind the rad, wich will be moved to the rear.

Had a bad week with the cruiser last week. The glow plug relay hanged up for a few hours after driving to work. -toasting the plugs, relay, batteries, alternator brushes and regulator. Threw out the relay, in with new batteries, new brushes, donor regulator and glowplugs. Crap.

Aaand the alu radiator gave up on me, it had tiny glitches in the cell ends.
Tried to fill weld it, but no game, does not leak, but wont hold pressure.

So i had to refubish the one from my donor 60, make new brackets, cut, bend and trim the shroud to fit the new location due to the 2" BL and the Intercooler beeing pushed into the stock rad location.

Everything in place, shroud works great, also added a 24v fan in front of the IC to aid airflow offroad. I've tied up the fan clutch, needs service.

The earthmover or the dilux?
Heres a pix from last weekend, did not take any myself, so i will post more borrowed pictures.
The front bush guard and the sliders were done just in time for last weekends awsome event.

Man-o-man, that's a lot of mud:hillbilly: She's looking great man, good work!!

Thanks, i like the added protection, and the bush guard doubles as a quick place to hang the winch line.
Got the sliders tested out, fell down about 15 inches directly at it, right behind the front tire. No slack.
And the bush guard also defended my headlights, blinkers and fenders as my hilux buddy slid onto me. great!

Now i just wanna change tires. Theese are becoming more of an AT, half worn.
So maybe i'm looking for someting a bit wider, on a 10in wide rim.

Also wanna cook up some kind of cab-controlled sway bar both at front and rear axle, as most of the time i dont need the flex, and it sees alot of daily use.
And i've really been missing some of the stability on off camber situations.
Plus i need a new cool project to tinker on for the cruiser...

in my mind: a traditonal frame mounted sway bar, one traditional link, the other link is a hydraulic cylinder with external reservoir for fluid expansion and volume difference with travel inside bore.
Then i could use any kind of valve to lock the cylinder, acting as a solid anti sway link.

Could also hook two equal length and bore cylinders on each side, and just lock the bridge between them.

Probably overkill, but overcool. And i'd like to use it on the long stretches between obstackles. My springs are too soft for hwy speeds, but fine soft when wheeling.

Enough tinkering, got more pix from last weekend, took none by myself:
