Give the dog up if she can't train it right. It's an F'in baby and you're smackin it? How much can a human child do at 2 years?! When he comes over, immediately put him in his crate - yes, CRATE TRAIN - and when you take him out, watch him close - as soon as he starts to go, "NO!", pick him up and bring him outside. Do this a few times and he'll get it. Give the dog a chance. Slap your gf instead - this is exactly how I adopted my pure-bred Lab - s***-for-brains guy and chick couldn't figure out what to do - so I got an $600-$800??? AKC Chocolate Lab for FREE - plus a donation I made to Lab rescue. Dumb s*** owners make me MAD  Good luck to you.

i see alot of kids that could use a good smack. but in this case i agree, i say beat the F**k the dog and beat the girlfriend.

and maybe if you wouldn't let the dog watch when you let your GF pee on you, he wouldn't think it was a family tradition.

If it's a punter dog get another GF. There's nothing worth being around a punter dog.
punter?? what is that?

Call The Dog Whisperer= Ceasar Milan

He talks to dogs......and he trains people!

Seriously....build a dog run. Buy some landscape blocks
that are flat 24" square, put a chain link fence around it..dog house,
bam, your done.....my dog has never seen the inside of this house!

I and other friends have coon hounds too. I won't tell you what they do when they are finished with a dog!

Unless your GF has an excellent body and huge supple , pouting
breastesses......then you such just put up with it.

Crate training a dog rocks. When my dog is inside and gets tired, or at night when its bed time, he goes in his kennel. At night, I shut the door, and don't have to worry about a 15 week old puppy running around pooping or chewing up the place. When the sun starts to break in the morning, he barks once to wake me up, and I let him out. As long as you NEVER mess with him while he's in it or use it as punishment, he will always think of it as his "safe place." This is the first dog I have crate trained, and let me tell you, it is the way to go.
that kind of crate training i can see,
when i was doing kitchen service work i would see large dogs that barely fit inside the kennel locked up for hours a day in the kitchen. i hated that. those dogs did not look happy at all. i would let them out and pet them for a bit before sticking them back inside.
those people should not even have a dog.

there is one dog that will stick in my mind for years down outside of Ferni BC. chained up with a big logging chain, never petted, chained out where no one can see him, they throw him a bone once in a while. it eats at me just thinking about him now. i went up and petted him and he practicly melted under my touch. poor dog.

Did he tell you it tasted like chicken or tuna?

Maybe I'm just tired...but I don't get it.

what the hell does "2 year old child" relate to a dog? in the proper hands a 2 year old dog should be well on his way to being obediant.
yes, i smack my dog on the rump or on the nose. this does not mean you cold cock the mutt with a closed fist, a smack is not beating a dog.
i agree, a loud NO!! and being carried outside works well even if he is peeing the whole way, he will get the idea.
kennel trained dogs send shivers down my spine. there is no way in hell i am locking up my dog.
now you go sit in the can for 8 hours a day for a week and tell me if you like it. no newspaper, no internet, no phone and no tv, you sit there and stare at 4 walls. you get one meal a day and only dry dog food. THAT is animal cruelty. THAT is wrong on just too many levels.
my dogs have the run of the house, the yard and the vehicle when we go for drives. i will not lock my best friend up.

i do agree, some people should never have pets (or kids for that matter). they just do not seem to know how to raise them.

cheers

Whoa, let me slow this down for the slower folks. You obviously didn't do well in reading for comprehension in grade school! Do some reading on effective crate training - great for overnight cuz dogs won't crap/pee where they live. First thing, take him outside stat. Praise. I was trying to make a relative comparison in intelligence - an untrained 6 mos old pup versus a stupid two yr old human - even in my book. Dogs rule.

I just clicked on this thread soley for the possibility of pics and the good nature cousin' lovin' ribbin' (three slang words in a row...how many points?)

Get a crate. Buy a book. Get laid. Life is good, no?

I will just chime in here that crate training is not leaving a dog in a crate all the time. It is using the crate as a den for them to keep them from peeing when you can't be watching. I did it with my German Shepard, using it at night (he would scratch in the middle of the night, first twice a night, then once a night, then go all night) when he needed to pee and I would carry him outside. During the day when I was at work, I would put him in the kitchen with a pee pad, run home at lunch and let him out and change the pee pad. All it all it took about 3-4 weeks to train him (he came home at 9 weeks). He was only in the crate a few times during the day and it was for short times when I had to do things in the other part of the house and couldn't watch him.

to add insult to injury, i was chatting with my wife about this thread and she graciously reminded me that this is how we trained Cruiser to pee outside. using a kennel.
DUH!!
yes, i have to admit we used the kennel at night till Cruiser was house trained. i guess it worked so well that i forgot.

my appologies. 2 appologies in one thread, bad day yesterday.

YOu and her need to watch The Dog Whisperer on National Geographic channel while naked, with the dog leashed up, so ya dont two tongues on your nads.....
