Sorry, Thats not factory AC. I looked at that truck. Very nice. The last owner was a fisherman like myself. I would have bought it but I wanted factory smog intact. Good price too. He wanted 17,5 for it when I looked at it about 3 months ago. The guy lived in Florida, but I dont think it was there long.

Texx, almost sure its not called spring green, its just called 681 Green, John Deere Green is a nickname and I would say thats a good nickname for it.

I think it was a 81-2 or 82-3 color only in the US, pretty sure it was 2 years. Other non US markets got it longer and I think even on the 60 series

my 82 is the same color, had me a bit confused when I found it......as there are not many of them......and its an awsome color, un-restored 100% original, bought from widow of orignal owner, I have done some stuff to it but have not drilled one single hole in it........

The name of that color is "spring green", it was only available in 82, I had one that color. Clean ride, great buy at today's prices.

Looks like I was dooped. I thought it was a factory air truck. My bad. You saw the truck in person? What told you it wasn't factory air. Sorry for the ignorance the Cruisers are new to me, im just getting involved. Most important to me is that overall i got a good clean cruiser and i hope thats the case here.

GREAT Ride!!! and i must say,,,one hell of a collection you have there. I checked out your site. Icredible. Is it safe to say that if one has a ? You probably have a clue of what the answer is. Great collection.

BTW, very nice 40 :)

check the brake master(or clutch master) to make sure its not leaking, it did at some point(lack of paint on interior firewall) but I suspect its been replaced long ago

hard to tell but the exterior "may" have been repainted at some point, looks like the window and hood hold downs are green, they would not have been originaly.

Landpimp, you know the truck? It was the clutch master and yes it has been repaired. And yes, I was told that it has been repainted. Certainly not show condition but very celan.

nope, never seen it before today, just noticed those items looking at the pics, my master leaked and left the same mark.......its very very common

looks like a good repaint to me, some minor details that most folks would have done the same way, unless very anal ;)

You see very few of the JD Green 40s and fewer yet that have been mildly built, I dig it :) Someplace I have pics of a really built up wheeler in JD Green

I know I saw some literature somewhere that called it either "spring", or "grass". Weird color, when seen in person. Definitely different. I've had a few 83's, a whole ton of 1980's, bunch of 79's, and a few 81's. I've only had two 82's, that one and a desert sand. Personally, I have never seen that color on anything other than 82 models in over 20 years of playing with 40's. No guarantee I'm right...but I've never seen it, and have only seen a handful of 82's that color. Kinda like the "purple" 83's.

you may be correct but Toyota really didn't have any fancy names for the 80's colors, cant recall seeing a name of the color in any of my cruiser lit...but now you got me curious and may have to look ;)

think when I pulled up the paint code someplace I found it was used 2 years but might have really only been 1 year, seen some Troopies in the same color....

I know I was almost sure it was a repaint when I found mine.....but then found it was not, for an ex old heavy equipement operator(me).....I just love the JD Green

I learn new things everyday, and I have been facinated by these things for 20 years. You still have a very nice truck. I have never had aftermarket AC but I hear that it blows colder than factory. Enjoy and welcome.

I believe that's the old "Clardy" unit out of Ft Worth. If so, it has a dual squirrel cage fan, and is one of the few aftermarket units that blows hard enough to get the lint off the passenger's knees. The company has been revived I believe as "Old Air" products.

is this the same green ? saw one in vancouver b.c. Canada .last year at cruiser days. if you look close at the hard top by the vent window above the side marker light ,we also got this little vent to defog the rear windows .his is missing the outer vent cover tho . i don't think the U.S. market got them

Wouldn't feel bad as it was a dealer installed option. Should still say Toyota on it?

looks like the same color or a bit off.....maybe a re-paint?

Nice

I have an 82 Also, great rig! Some perks are the rear heater placement, cable e-brake, disc front, and clearance for Bobby Longs front inner axles with Longfields (without grinding). These later models are hard to find so you did good. There were limited numbers shipped to the US. Get that thing SOA with power steering and youll be loving it.. if you dont like it let me know and I will buy it!

Nice Cruiser! If you ever buy new rims and tires for it I would be interested in making an offer for the old ones. ( If they are the original rims ) I'm from Chesapeake it would easy to pick up. Thanks and have fun with your rig.
