Oh yeah I'll take pics of the entire exhaust and post it...later today...

I think you'll find the front and rear O2 sensors have different style plugs / connectors. Looks good...much too clean though :)

Nah.. is not that clean... it just looks purdy !!!

Dylan part number for the 02 sensors post cat is 12599866.
GM Parts Direct: Your direct source for Genuine GM Parts list them at $61+ each....
I want to drive this baby yesterday so I had to pick two at the stealership...im glad they had them in stock...

DAMN FINE JOB FRANK!!!! Looks great. You must have a bad pump cause on mine I hardly hear it. BTW Send it back they will warranty it and use the credit towards your new one. Slight humm but not so loud inside. Eitherway she's up and running! :bounce: So when do we get the vido of you romping on it??? MORE PORN!!!!

Gracias Señor Randy !!!

Got to do some gas pedal work this weekend.. and I must say it came up much better than I expected and the welder I scored on ebay the other month welds like a champ !!!!
I was able to keep the pedal in the stock location using the existing holes. I just need to drill one more to make it more secure !!!

Woo-hoooo :bounce::bounce:

Here are some fotos !!

First weld

Second Weld

Here are some more.....
The pedal had to be welded on an angle away from the tranny hump...
Oh and this is not the pedal that originally came with the engine...as that was all plastic..... now Im waiting on a fuel pump and some O2 sensors extensions and also need 02 sensors for the front at least one as the wires were fried.....

Nice work man! those welds are looking good.

Nice welding Frank. Where did you learn to weld like that? The pedal looks great!

Thanks guys...

Hey for reference purposes... and maybe all of you or most of you know this but I was in need of some parts and rather than going to the stealership or the autoparts store... I went to the Parts Retailer Locator | Service/Maintenance | ACDelco for parts and was able to score two O2 sensors for the front and the Solenoid Electrical plug Part #PT250 for the evaporation canister for $100.00. waaaaaay cheaper than stealership and gmpartsdirect.com.... just thought you guys doing these crazy swaps may want to know !!!!

Anyways.. yeah re: the weld.... I was very surprised about how nice and clean it came out !!!

Laters,

Frank

I buy some parts from Rock Auto.com, they have some GM stuff depending on the year model. Plus generally they have pictures that are useful at times. I stay clear of the local GM shop unless its something I need that day. Looks good. Its amazing how long it takes to get all the little things like you want them.

Ok guys I drove it today after getting the 02 sensors extensions in the mail.. It did its thing... engine light came on and once it cranked engine light went off... I drove it up and down the street a couple of times:steer::steer: but then the engine light came on...:eek: it started to idle rough and drove it back home.. it stalled a couple of times but it cranked right up.... I plugged the scanner and it read a P200 code... which I see it has to do with the injection system... I read up on it and it says it could be many things....:mad:now the fuel pump is really noisy I hope that is the case and I will change it when I get back into town.. Im off to Tahoe till Sunday....
Im also wondering if I have the fuel lines mixed up. Yah know, plug the return line into the fuel pump...

what say you guys ?? Any ideas what it may be?? The engine is got only 40 miles. I hope is not something big ...:bang:

hopefully it's just a bad pump and that a new one cures it...

P200 is an injector code usually bad fuel pressure (too low). We need to check the fuel lines and be sure you did not hook the return line up as the feed line. If that is OK then we need to check the pump. I know you have a noisy pump. Sometimes that is caused by too much air in the like (Example: you hooked up the return line instead of the feed line) I get this noise on my pump when I am running very low on fuel.

The P200 is a generic code for poor injection (injector misfire). A P201 would tell you you have a bad injector on #1 (or a misfiring injector) A P202 would be for cyl #2 and so on.....

So Frank you left out the best part! Did it run like a raped ape? Once we get it all fixed we will drag race. (Maybe some sand drags at Surf N' Turf)

Relax and enjoy Tahoe, it is awesome this time of year. I will see you Monday and we will get your Tahota running correctly.

ok guys.
We have tried a brand new MDS fuel pump put isolators on it to drawn any vibration and switched fuel lines back and forth... ran it without the fuel filter and with it.
Checked the fuel filter for any debris.
Still the pump is making a loud noise.
As if it was working hard. Hot wire the pump and it pushes lots of fuel but the sound is just so loud.
I can hear it from 20' or 30' feet away !!!
changed fuel line from tank to pump to eliminate any air going in on the braided line..

Thinking next is pulling the tank out and checkin the pick up line ???

Advise please !!!

Any idea what it might be???

You might have a restriction.... I would make sure the tank is vented and the pump is not trying to collaspe the tank. You can hear my fuel pump , but its not too annoying.

Hey Frank, do you have a diagram of the way your fuel system is hooked up? I believe your engine is a returnless system...I'm sure you already know that though, right?

Dylan, I dont have a diagram but is pretty much like this.
I cap the return/vent line.
I getting fuel via the other line to fuel filter to fuel pump to engine.
Pretty straight forward.

Yes Im aware is a returnless system.
Rover67 has the same engine I think (judging by the pics on his swap).
He did use a preasure regulator and after working on the piggy all day yesterday (Thanks Peter) and eliminating any possible malfunction (ie fuel pump clogged lines/filter) I am going to run the preasure regulator just like Randy and Rober67 have done and see what kind of results I get.
If it runs great then I leave it on and take it to the ref like that see if they are ok with a shinny looking gage on top of the engine.....

Funny thing is that the pump I thought was bad worked quiet, very quiet when we empty the fuel tank to pull it off (that was a biatch).... So I dont know what gives...

Dylan I tried to take several pcs of the exhaust system but I can't get the whole thing in one shop. Im too close to the truck....

I'll keep yah posted...

Frank...

That's your problem Frank. I forgot you were returnless. That pump will run no matter what and you are causing it to work against the internal regulator. But still check on the pick up tubes to make sure they are clear. You are almost there!
