On it this week. Roughy it, maybe weld other side Thursday.

More paint while weather is warm, maybe cut the other side too if the “paint booth” is done for a while.

Here is the almost done tank and the skid plate from being blasted…

Going to put a rubberized undercoat on bottom of tank

Cut the driver side to do prevention-

Yellr took a dump on the floor after cleaning behind the plate. Mind you, cleaned before and shop vacuumed too before.

So after cleaning etc, exposed this gem hiding behind where the inner channel was removed and cleaned

Put a light on it inside frame. Image from below…. Frick.

Dang, glad you found the cheese so you can repair. Tank is looking great, I need to do something about mine I think. Looked fine when I pulled the sender but should probably throw a probe in there or drain for the real story.

So the frame....

Rus made a gusset for the front. I like what he came up with. A clean look for sure. This will be part of his kit.

For the cheese on the driver side as Ian called it

The solution was more involved…
Cut it out…

Make a patch and add a buttress for the inside frame

Still hot from welding and can see the vertical brace

@RevISK and I were on the phone discussing eigenvalues, gusset angles a couple days ago… said the gussets looked vertical. They angle back about 12 degrees.

Anyway… driver side outer gusset on to add more lateral strength
