I pulled glow plugs and all are 8.5v but two difference brands. I have one NGK Y128 and three T100. Since they don't match I will replace them.

Wise decision!

Ordered four NGK Y-128T glow plugs. They were the only ones I could find from a US based website.

I hit a snag installing the CCOT seat risers. They are factory reproduction but the four rear risers don't even come close to the holes. Maybe something is different between 77 models from Central America? Tomorrow I will find some flat stock and fabricate something.

I did have to put one seat in just to see how it looks. I'm pretty happy with it.

I ordered a rivet nut tool from Amazon. I've been wanting to buy one for awhile and thought it would come in handy for the seat risers. Drilling some holes and not modifying perfectly new hardware seems like a good plan. Plus it's hot as s*** outside and the last thing I want to do is cut, weld, and grind on metal.

Changed glow plugs but still no glow indicator. Truck starts first crank so I guess that's the important part. I'm going to rig up a glow light and manual glow button at some point before winter.

Four new ones like this.

I also changed the oil sender but that didn't wake up the oil pressure gauge. Only gauge not working at the moment.

Remove controller from dash and read the part number on top of the housing.
Should be 28550-46021. If it reads 47021 it's for a HJ (6 cyl.) If it reads different.... let me know.

It's a 28550-47021.

So now you're the happy owner of a HJ glow controller. Typical Costa Rican solution!

Rudi
What is the different in the two glow controllers?

What is the different in the two glow controllers?
A BJ40 is a 4 cylinder = 4 glow plugs
A HJ40 is a 6 cylinder = 6 glow plugs
The 47021 expects a 60 Amp current to glow but only gets 40 Amps so it will not lit up (glow) but will get pretty hot.

That's what my guess was but was hoping I was wrong.

The solution...... try to find the 28550-46021.

I attempted to purchase one from amayama.com. Waiting to hear back if it will happen. Not holding my breath.

The frame that the seats sit on have been modified and re-welded.

Basically, the front of your seats should sit on #s 53, 54, 55 and the rear of the seats should sit on #s 51 and 52 as shown on the attached.

The seat adapter brackets I have are for factory mounts. Nothing has been modified. Something is odd about it though that I haven't figured out.
