Something I've been wondering, is there a write-up on installing an aftermarket head unit (Basic Pioneer) in place of the original Toyota unit (CD/Tape/EQ/Tuner) while still using all stock speaker locations.

From what I understand, if I want to run an aftermarket radio, I can not use the factory Amp which powers the 3 rear most speakers?

I removed the radio to install the new power antenna, and wanted to know what these other two plugs are for (Two on the Left) I know the one on the right is for the radio.

Any insight on this would be wonderful, as my radio is garbage and most of the speakers are damaged from the previous owner.

Cheers,

Ordered a Fuel filter and new Intake boot today for a total of $117. I should have both tomorrow.

These are the new KM2s, 33x10.5

Just contacted Slee about getting a Heavy Load 2.5" kit. Waiting to hear back to see what I need to do, order wise.

Once I get it, thanks to my buddies friend, and his Garage, I should have access to a lift and heat which will be nice. Can't wait to have new springs and shocks under this Ox! :)

Cheers.

the mts look good at 10.5 tread. Rig is looking good.

I was thinking of getting the 12.5s, but wasn't sure. I think a little wider would look nice on the truck, but yeah, I am liking the 10.5s!

Those tires look great on the stock wheels. I think you will be happy with the tires I found the narrower KM2 tires are fantastic on and off road.

Cheers,
Greg

Nice paint job on the trim pieces! For posterity and assistance to other cruiserheads who may need to do this with their cruisers, what brand, type and color of paint did you use?

What does the switch in front of the elec window switch do

Same reason other markets had Manual Trannys in the 80-Series. U.S and Canada only got the 4spd Auto.

I'm guessing it's a door lock/unlock switch.

Don't know why other markets didn't have it.

Is there a door unlock switch on the drivers door?

Just ordered from Slee, wow, nice guys, easy to work with and really informational! I ended up going with the 2.5" Medium lift, as the Heavy 2.5" lift would yield close to 3.5"-4" of lift on a stock weight truck (Without bumpers, winch, rack, toolbox) and would be a very harsh ride. So Medium it was, I can always swap springs once I start adding bumpers later down the road.

I will post updates and pictures of progress as I go.

Stay tuned!

I was poking around Slee's website out of shear boredom, and I found this info about the '91-'92 FJ80s. And noticed it said that they have a Full-Floating Front Axle and Semi-Floating Rear axle (Highlighted) Is this true? I thought the FF axles were only on the '93 and up with the lockers? Still new to Land Cruisers, so I don't know all the nitty gritty details yet.

1991-1992

First major wagon body re-design since the 1980 introduction of the 60
series.
3FE 4.0L engine and A440F automatic transmission held over from the 62 series wagons.
Introduction of full time, four wheel drive system.
Introduction of all coil suspension for the wagons.
15" x 7" alloy wheels standard and unique to '91-92 but the same as SR5 mini-truck wheels
front disk / rear drum brakes with FF front and SF rear axles
third row seats available for the first time
no airbags available
no ABS brake system available
no factory lockers available

All front steer axles are full floater, rear axles on the fzj80 became ff in '93

Full float rear became optional in 1993. It was part of the ABS/disc brake or diff-lock options. Full float became standard, along with ABS, in the 1995 model year.
