Lawd but getting older sucks..... Hate it in your case especially - YOU truly squeeze as much enjoyment as possible in your ‘less young’ days of retirement!
Hope you beat back this latest health hurdle.....

Thanks young’un!!

God bless you Danny for what you did way back then
...

Amen.

Thank you so much for sharing the follow up to the story. It’s been a long time since you posted originally and I’d forgotten about it. It’s so nice to hear that there is some form of a happy ending.

May good health be yours for as long as possible!

Sorry to hear that you will have to sell 44 Danny. Don't be a stranger here in Mud; please stay in touch.

Thanks Lee!

I’ll be around, offering bad advice and I hope to still post pitchers and amazing stories of life in remote trailer parks.

Danny, your messages are reality, but of course it's not easy to get in and out of "44" because of all the goods for travel you have laying and hanging around it it ;)

As "44" is in excellent shape I think you don't have directly to sell it, if you just clutter it out, maybe there will still be some future days you feel up for it to take it on some short trips around town and enjoy it with a great smile on your face

Or use it as in a story that I remember of a 81 year old mudder on here that 1 or 2 times a year took the 40 with 3 old friends in it on a off road trip for 2 hours

As they laught and enjoyed the off road trip too much they always did their pampers on and after the trip they had to be in bed for 3 days to recoup.

That sounds like me, Erik!!

It’s a good thought, but alas, I’d much rather see her used and enjoyed like I’ve enjoyed her.

Getting old is Vreselijk, but the alternative is worse.

44 is sold... we’ll meet here at home on the 22nd to pass the baton.

Someone is getting a nice truck. I would have bought it myself if I'd had the extra money.

Danny,

So bummed to hear this as you’re right up there with Weber Sarge, LostMarbles, bj40green and all the other folks who inspired me and taught me everything I needed to know to build my own rig.

I especially appreciate your pragmatism and “matter-of-factness” not to mention your efforts to hold on to 44 as long as you have.

Hope your health improves and please do continue to post up here and check in once in a while - I like reading about your adventures.

Hope the new owner of 44 joins Mud as well and continues to use it as it was meant to be used and shares the journey with us here too.

Thanks Lee!!

I’ll let the new owner introduce himself, but I think he’s gonna fit right it!!

And he’s very likely to exercise and graze 44, just as I hoped!! Although, I suspect he will rename her. She’s probably tired of having a number anyway.

Congrats on the quick sale Danny
I hope the new owner will start a new thread and keep us updated on 44’s adventures

Thank you Keith!! I’m sorry we couldn’t get together on this... it’ll be better for you to buy once you’re back home.

Best of luck with everything, Keith!!

You’re too nice, Rich!! I’m in prize company with Kevin, Tom and Rudi! I’m nowhere near their league, but I appreciate the thought!!

As I told Lee (@1911), “ I’ll let the new owner introduce himself, but I think he’s gonna fit right it!!

And he’s very likely to exercise and graze 44, just as I hoped!!”.

Assuming I can recover my strength enough, I’m still going to explore... I hope to be able to hike again, without stopping every few feet, to rest my hands in my knees and dry heave, while struggling to catch a full breath.

But, I’ll be driving a 4x4 Tundra and roughing it in a 20’ trailer that is built for rough 2-tracks... sans rocks.

Michael (@waiting for time) was first to suggest my continuing to post my pictures, adventures and attempts at humor in this thread.

I hope to do that, but anyone who responds will have to mention something “technical”, to fool the censors. ;)

@Solace in Solitude with all your new found free time you can make a trip up here and we'll go fishing.

Hopefully you get those lungs back in shape again!
