Looking forward to giving my own report on the Rubys soon enough Danny.

Try the Lamoille Lake hike, at the upper end of the Lamoille Canyon road. If the snow is go, it’s a great hike and the Dollar Lakes are gorgeous. Chester loves to swim in them!!

I don't know how you get your gas in the tank, but I just purchased an electric gas pump on Amazon that has changed my life. You screw it in the top of the 5 gal can, with a draw tube you cut to length, push the "on" button and wait for the gas to go in. I cannot imagine doing it otherwise, now.

I generally pour 5 gal cans.

But, I can also fill from the roof, using one of these Amazon product ASIN B072LN1T1W
I have one for gas and one for water... I’ll have to lengthen the gas siphon a couple of feet.

I also have a 12v Pump and two 3’ hoses.

Back from Colorado tomorrow... sleeping in a KOA Camp in Holbrook, AZ tonight.

It rained about 18” the first week, at Lake Fork Campground, on the Conejos River, and cold rain at 10k’ results in Flu-like aches and pains for my old, arthritic bones. I took a lot of Ibuprofen, Cymbalta and Methocarbonol and used a lot of CBD balm, oil and tincture, read a lot of books and listened to a lot of audiobooks.

I didn’t try to fish the first week, The Conejos River was running full the whole time we were there. My son-in-law and a couple of his friends fished it a bit, but it was really difficult... like fishing a raging flood... and hardly any Conejos fish were being caught... so, they fished tributaries and did quite well!!

This past Monday, Tommy and I drove over to Treasure Creek, to fish for Rio Grande Cutthroats... we both caught several... here are my two best:

If you haven’t fished Treasure Creek, it’s gorgeous... this is looking upstream, in the narrow canyon that enters the valley, between two sheer walls.

We hiked about 6 miles on Tuesday, into the Lake Fork watershed and I’ll post some pics once I’ve downloaded them from my camera.

Wednesday’s planned fishing excursion was preempted by another fierce rainstorm and another onset of arthritis... but, all-in-all, much better that Vegas’ heat!!

If you haven’t seen Treasure Creek, it’s gorgeous!! This is wading upstream, thru a canyon that opens into a valley, thru two sheer rock walls.

Nymphs?

What! JK, I'm glad you got to get out and enjoy some water and fishing, it's been a while if I remember correctly.

I managed to hook the little guy on a #16 PMD comparadun pattern last week!

Beautiful country you have in those areas Danny. I just sold my Tundra that I bought brand new in 2001. 408K miles, original motor and drivetrain, amazing truck. But needed something with better gas mileage for my hefty commutes into Phoenix. So rolling a sweet low mileage 2012 Corolla S. 40 mpg sure works for me!

I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire again last night... I have always been enthralled by the tents used during the Quiddich Tournament!!

For anyone who doesn’t remember... they pitched plain old 8x10 tents and, upon entering them you saw yuge interior space that was well appointed and quite comfortable... like this

So... I’m in the process of planning a remodel of 44’s floor plan... I hope to redesign 44’s interior, in an attempt to significantly increase the living space.

Don’t laugh yet... wait until my vision has cleared.

But still have three 4WD’s as well. New 4Runner and the ‘78 and ‘76 FJ40’s.

Nice, Tom!!

My 2002 Tundra was bought new as well... it has 116k actual miles and gets at least 9mpg, when towing our travel trailer.

I wish a Corolla could tow my trailer. :frown:

It has a LOT of life left in it Danny. I am friends with the service manager at Camelback Toyota. They frequently see our generation Tundra’s with well over 500K miles on them.

Makes me feel good, I have a 2001 Tundra with 180,000 miles. It runs great and I love it, glad to know its kind has a long life expectancy!

So... my Tundra’s good for about 90 years more!!

Good to know she’ll still be going strong long after I’m gone!!

Time and Relative Dimension in Space can’t help me this time... I’m out of space ;)

There’s a portal, to another dimension, out in the DNWR... a few years ago, Gunner and I passed thru it and he became quite large, as we came out on the other side... as large as 44.

So, I’m thinking of trying to make that portal work for me.

But, I’m thinking I had already made 44 as efficient possible, considering all the stuff we carry.
