Will do. I get up there once a month or so and more often during duck season as we have a place just south of the river.

Brad,
The camera system is wireless. The Relic Run was a lot of fun! I have a few events that I am considering but none are penciled in yet. Monday I start a new job so I need to see how much available time off I will have.

How is the 40 running?

It’s good
Needs a few issues worked out to be better but that’s the fun with them, valves adjusted, carb/vac making it run rough, front knuckle leak, change most fluids, some odd axle wrap at times but not consistently and gettig AC is now on my radar so I can enjoy it more but work gets in the way . I hope to get out and see you on a run soon as well, planning on making myself get out in the fall with it for a trip but will probably end up using the time to visit family in bham.
Good luck with your new job

It would be great to have you come up again anytime you’re able to make it.

Happy birthday America!!

I made it to the Solid Axle Summit in Ouray last week. Wow what a trip! Roma, Tucker and I convoyed from Huntsville to Amarillio Tx where we met up with the event organizer and 9 more LC's. We left on Sunday morning and drove to Woodland Park Co to camp over night before driving up to Ouray on Monday. There were 13 total LC's driving from Amarillo to Ouray, it was quite the spectacle! We ran a number of trails while we were there. Samson performed flawlessly both on the trail and on the highway. There was one minor difficulty, on Thursday the turbo would not spool up. It turns out that the air filter was so clogged from trail dust that the filter had been sucked shut. After knocking the major portion of the dust out of the filter the turbo could get enough air to properly function. On the way home Friday morning I stopped at the first auto parts store and purchased a new air filter. The trip totaled 3358 miles in 9 days. For those that have never been to Ouray it is a must see destination for a LC owner.

The long ride across Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma and eventually Texas. The last picture is the line of cruisers heading out of Texas into New Mexico.

We stayed at a private residence in Woodland Park (the first 2 pictures). Everyone stopped at Soulcraft Brewery, home of the FJ60 beer, for lunch. Then we made the summit at Monarch pass/Continental Divide, all of the trucks needed a breather at that point. Next we stopped at reservoir outside of Lake City.

Then it was on to Ouray where we camped at the KOA. On Tuesday we started riding the trails. There were a total of 54 rigs for the SAS this year and Maggie, as one of the organizers, came rolling in from her 17000 mile trip for the summer in her BJ70.

Words cannot properly express and pictures cannot capture the beauty of these places.

And then there is Poser Rock! The pictures from the inside are the view looking out while sitting on Poser Rock. This was more than a little nerve racking experience! But totally worth it!!

There was a stock 40 that traveled with us all the way up Imogene, with no trouble at all. Reminding us of why we love our LC's so much in the first place.

The dust at the end of the trails was pretty substantial! I believe I will be paying someone to clean this mess up properly.

For the ride home Roma and Tucker retraced our steps back through Texas while I went a little further north to visit a friend I had not seen in about 4 decades in Castle Rock. I loaded up on Saturday morning and made the 20 hour drive straight through. The bugs were pretty rough through Illinois. There were a lot of 7's on my instrument cluster along the way!
