Classic Cruisers will probably have a torsion bar. I’ve gotten several normal and one off parts from them for my ‘69. If they don’t, I can check at BTB Products here in Las Vegas. They have a small boneyard in the back with a couple of pigs and various spare parts.

Awesome thanks! I will check with Classic Cruusers

Though that I'd try this first. Had to shorten the overall length if the torsion bar because I foolishly cut it out a while back. But I don't see any reason why this won't work. Just going to have to drill a new hole to account for the new length.

My only concern about the shorter length is that it might be too stiff with the reduction in material. Maybe not ever allowing the tailgate to relax enough to lay completely flat.... That would not be very cool. Were just going to have to wait and see.

I've Been spending a ton of time (weeks!) prepping this ol' girl for paint and finely got it in to the paint booth this morning. I Spent another five hours in the booth with a skilled paint/body guy as he sanded and touched up my body filler work. I can confidently say that I have fixed all the rust that could be accessed. I will continue treatment of the surface rust inside the body panels after paint.
The rear cargo windows were left in because about a year ago I replaced the headliner and installed new window seals (from slocruisers) and painted the areas behind the new window seals at that time.
I will be picking up the 55 in the morning!
