Well, I had plans of shooting my console today, got it all prepped and just realized I forgot the spray gun at work!
 
Decided to work on my dash box instead!

Making the cut outs to clear the cluster and glove box door.

Started small and if more is needed I'll cut some more!

Last weekend I finally got to spray the rubberized undercoat on my console! It sprays gray and drys black.

Also gave a new coat of black paint on my roof rack since we are heading to Yosemite this weekend (not on the 40) and will need it!



Today I made one of the lids for my dash box and it looks really good! Didn't take any pics yet! Will try to make the other one tomorrow.

This past week I got to work a bit on the dash box.
Here you can see the inside walls being located in place and then started welding them on :)

I have owned this truck for almost a year now and last night was working on my dash box and just noticed this inside the glove box!

Is this what I think it is? A power out let? I even stuffed my hand behind the sheet metal and there are 2 wires going to it!

Dash box is looking really good. I'm in the middle of deciding between an aftermarket dash pad and a dash box.
I already like yours more! I like the softer edges in your design.
...wanna make me one when your done?

Thanks guys! I just like to keep things personal, rather do something myself in a way I like better then just buy it off somebody's shelf!

Nothing wrong with buying, I just like building things!

I sure would like to make some to sell but these days I barely have time to work on my own! After the wife, the little ones and work there isn't many hours left on the clock! You all know what I mean.

But it's good to know people dig what I'm doing!

Beautiful day at Pismo yesterday! A little windy but great time with my son cruising around and playing on the sand!

One of these days I gotta turn that yellow primer into green color again! Getting tired of looking at it!
 
Running a bit slow in the shop today so I took some time to fit and tack weld one side of the dash box eyebrow.

Will mount it tomorrow and check how it looks now! Also take a better pic and post it up!
