There is a similar thread in both the 100 and 200 Classifieds Sections, makes sense here too. These trucks are changing hands at a rapid rate these days, having consolidated live market data is a nice thing for both buyers and sellers.

If you have recently bought or sold an 80 series and are comfortable sharing the details, post it here.

Anyone need a triple locked project?

If it was an OBD2 truck I'd be on the way to pick it up.

Truck looks pretty clean for the mileage. That guy sounds like he might deal. Assuming no significant rust, if it could be picked up for $3-3.5K (or less) would be well worth it for parts or a project…

Rust isn't a big issue here

This seems like a great deal in my area. It’s refreshing to see a clean locked one at a reasonable price under 10k. If I had the cash on hand I’d be on my way to look at it now.

346k on the odometer, front locker doesnt engage, ABS light on, power steering leak, transmission slips, no driver door handle, various dints/dings, other minor issues all over. BUT its triple locked, in theory, and I still want it.

I saw they took the ad down today. Did you go look at it? The paint and interior looked really clean at least. I wonder if the slipping trans could just be the solenoids, or low fluid. And TBF I’ve never seen one of these without a power steering leak, haha. What did you find out about the head gasket and birfs?

I test drove it yesterday and gave him an offer but there was one person in front of me who had first dibs. The seats were reupholstered in places using the third row seats. Paint looks better in the pictures, and no information on HG. I’m bummed I missed out because I messaged within about 45 minutes of the post.

Anyone looking for a no sunroof no roof rack grey cloth interior three row nightshade pearl unlocked 80 series? I found one listed but am waiting for signs of life from the seller.

Anyone know what the deal is with this one? Built (still lots more that can be done), supercharged (don’t know if it’s factory), under 100k mile LX 450. Looks to have about 20-25k worth of mods, not including PM or labor costs if the owner took it to a shop.

Seller was asking 50k a couple months ago and has now dropped to 45k. I can only assume it’s a rust free and pristine, BaT worthy vehicle for that price. I’d guess it’s probably worth 35k-40k considering two recent LX’s that sold recently. Maybe I’m wrong?

No idea, I'd seen that vehicle but it's way out of my price range, so I haven't looked into it. It could be a BaT worthy vehicle, or the owner wants to get as much $ as he thinks he can (knowing it's not BaT worthy)?

You should go take a look.

Hi colleagues. Why is my 80 not selling? I realize the market has softened a bit lately, but still think it is a very decent deal. 1995 factory triple locked, 3" lift, nightshadow pearl new paint job, dry frame and body, no dents, decent interior, new windshield, awesome running AC. Is it because of the mileage (273k)? That should not be a huge factor. It will the rear locker serviced, O2 and airbag lights dealt with, and seal front driver's axle hub. It's only been a week or so since I published, but I am not getting that many inquiries. I feel it's more than fairly priced at $14K but can be flexible if price is the main issue. Another reason is people probably being suspicious about this specimen being in the NE, but I can warranty it's dry. Ad: 95 TLC FS Any input appreciated, I need to sell one of my three Land Cruisers or I'll be in big trouble at home. :)

You have unresolved issues.
You have high mileage
You have limited info in the ad
You only have it posted here?
No mention of a hg repair?
No mention of numerous trouble areas being addressed that will need addressed.

Based on your ad I'm going to assume if I buy it it will need 3-5k in baseline maintenance at a minimum plus repairs

That would have me looking elsewhere.

Pictures of LCs on snow automatically make people think salt and rust, too.

People are dumb. Doesn't mean you don't have to cater to them though.
