Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

T-boned? And that kind of damage on the other vehicle? Doesn't seem "minor" to me. That makes me nervous.
Yeah, I was thinking the same. The categories on the report were None, Minor, Functional, Disabling. The Charger was deemed Disabling damage, the LC was deemed Functional damage.

Apologies in advance- nothing useful to add, just a question. Do you mind sharing how you got this info about the accident? I've looked at many trucks to buy, and have generally stayed away from those with accidents because typically the only info is the vague description in a Carfax or Autocheck report. How were you able to track down a photo of the other vehicle involved?

One example is this 2008 LX570. It's priced super cheap, but has been in two accidents, according to the Carfax. If they were minor accidents, I'd be interested in a potential purchase. If they were major, I'd probably pass. Is it possible to shed some light on how I might track down more info?

Thanks!

Found this seemingly looking good deal on '18 with 37k at $57k. Looking into it further, I ended up pulling accident records and seeing that the 'minor accident' on the carfax turned out to be the LC getting t-boned by a charger at 43mph at an intersection. Impact was to the rear passenger side, basically right where the rear wheel is. Based on the damage of the Charger, would you guys here say stay away?

Pics checked out for the most part. Just wondering how badly axle could be if it wasn't replaced. Records indicate a short time after the accident, it was checked in to a toyota dealership for oil change and service, indicating it was possibly fixed immediatly.

I wouldn't touch it. I looked at the dealer website, and it's the kind that requires you to "request VIN" and submit an inquiry. I run from any dealer who doesn't offer the VIN and Carfax in plain view, because it could have been in a serious accident and they're trying to hide it...kinda like they are ;)

The process depends on the state where the accident occurred, and the information contained in the carfax, and what information is needed to query it. I could probably start a whole thread on it, if someone knows where I should put it in this forum...probably doesn't belong here.

Anyway, my particular process for this one was...
-ask dealer for the carfax
-get the accident report number from carfax (lucky it was one there)
-find Ohio accident database (got luck it's free, no form required, and all online)
-query the accident using accident number, and download the report
-grab the VIN of the other car from the report
-google the VIN
-find the auction page that sold the Charger.

In your case, for New York, you have to submit a form, and pay to get that.

Impressive investigative work, I’ll think of minor damage in a whole new light.

Pass. Specially if you tried to sell it later on down the road as well.

I'd pass on that one, but what about the Blue/Terra 2017 one for $49,920? Great color combo.

Being north dakota truck doesn't give you a little pause? i do like the color combo, but this one in texas seems like more of a sure thing. debating pulling the trigger

Someone here buy that please.

Got the white 2017-43k miles for $56.4 +(tax oh the tax!). Took the kids and dog on a trail and went mountain biking this morning. It's already part of the family.

Seems like a very good deal on that Texas one. Like crazy good. Am I missing anything?

It looks like it had a cooling system leak last fall and had the water pump replaced. seems a little early for that?

I never look at where the truck is from. Interior condition and maintenance records is what I use to judge the vehicle. If there's a bit of rust it can be taken care of.

At least the Texas heat hasn’t baked it.
