Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

I saw this 2018 that’s on BaT today:

A lot of good things, but unfortunately a couple of glaring issues. Namely oil seepage on both sides of the engine along with a broken HVAC recirculation door.

In case BaT user LCBest is on here. Passenger side.

The broken door is a really easy fix.

And the oil leaks are in the photos lol.

Swear everyone expects every single 200 to be void of any issues whatsoever lol.

Buy it and solve the issues or dont and let someone else snatch it if they so desire.
What is the source of the oil leak?
Rough idea of cost to fix?

That’s my point though. Go into the transaction eyes wide open. If you haven’t owned a 200 before and all you read about is how they are so reliable, it doesn’t take more than a couple of gotchas to have a sour experience. There’s some internet lore around the Land Cruiser that doesn’t jive with the ownership experience, especially as you get up in mileage. Typically they aren’t issues that leave you stranded, but that’s possible too. Set aside 5% of final bid to bring the truck up to spec, or don’t. I’ve seen far too many bidders expect a pristine example of whatever they’re bidding on end up not being what they expect in person. And that’s far more normal than folks let on when it comes to the auction buying experience.

Agreed. With anything i buy i always expect for something to happen within the first 2 years of ownership even if everything is tip top at the time of purchase.

My 07 LC100 had immaculate service history and within a year the steering rack decided to leave the chat. Replaced with OEM and kept it moving.

People are obsessive over these things like they dont suffer from the same issues as the Sequoias/Tundras (Cam tower leak, valley plate, valve cover gaskets) ect.

its a Machine. If you wanted one perfect should have bought one brand spanking new when they dropped. Expecting otherwise is just setting yourself up for disapointment. I like negotiating my future repairs into the vehicle. Otherwise im pissed because something invariably needs to be addressed and you're upset about it.

A small oil leak isnt the end of the world. Labor intensive to repair at a shop? absolutely. Should it decide the entire fate of the purchasing decision? hell nah.

I sold a 2014 LX 570 "back" to Carmax last week for $ 33,000. 91,000 miles. Nice / excellent condition. Will report back when they list it......

Looks like dealer got the 2018 HE that was on here. They got it listed for $69k.
I don't get why PO would post it here and three days later sell to a dealer for waaay less than what he was asking here. o_O If dealer is asking $69k there is no way jose they paid $68k.

People have their reasons. There is value in convenience and certainty of close.
