Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

More pics of this beauty, please.
The nori has many different shades depending on the sun or shade. Caramel interior.

How would y'all say that a replacement engine would effect the value of a LC?

I've been chatting with a member here who is fairly local to me about buying his 200 series with a replacement used engine. It's been a good 20-25k miles since the replacement. Really not much to go on as far as history of sales in this case. The work was done by a dealer which I'd say is generally a plus, and the coolant system items were all replaced (radiator, water pump, valley plate reseal). The engine supposedly has a good 60k less miles on it than the truck (over 170k) does but there is no proof of this. So plusses and minuses all around.

Personally I look at this situation as the same as one without a new engine. Sure the engine has less miles but overall it’s not worth anymore or less in my eyes.

Putting a 10k motor in a 30k cruiser doesn’t make it a 40k cruiser. It’s still a 30k rig in my eyes.

I wouldn’t be scared of this particular deal given the miles on new engine. If it had any install bugs it’s worked out by now.

I tend to agree, especially on this last point. The only thing is that it could have hurt the value because of it being a bit of an unknown variable, especially with how picky some are about the provenance of a used cruiser, but on the other hand whenever you're buying a used truck you usually never truly know the history anyways if it's had a few owners.

Same way I'd think about it. A replacement engine on a platform like this would signal to me poor ownership care, since it's so rare on a 3UR. But if the work was done well it could be just as reliable as an original engine, etc. If it's a good deal with verified paperwork on the replacement from Toyota, I'd strongly consider it.

New listing so no pictures quite yet...but this seems high for a '17 with almost 119k miles. Location clearly is a factor with the price on these 200s, but this is an outlier even for CO. Are these going up? FWIW Lexus Greenwood Village. Vehicle also has damage. Not the most desirable color combo either.

I'm finding that dealers are listing way above market value (even above kbb). Let it sit. And most of them sells for $3-6k off. Unless it's a low milage. Most 60k+ miles 200 I've seen for the past 6 months all sat for 2 months in the dealer, while dropping $1k a week... until someone bites. There was a HE in PA 2 months ago, freshly listed at $69k. I went in like 3 days after it was listed and was immediately offered $66k if I signed that day, eventually sold for $60k.

$60k for a HE? I assume it was super high mileage. Not being a southern truck, I understand some discount, but $60k is a very low number for an HE.

Looking at the following in Tennessee
Black 2009
180k miles
New KO2s
New windshield
Average maintenance history
Dealership messed up the driver side trim on the windshield when they replaced it, I'm hoping I can talk them into fixing it.
Body is meh, some scratches, rock chips on the hood, maybe 6-8 hail damage spots on the hood & roof
Interior is also meh. Front seats could use a recover.

Listed at $21.5k

I think the price is OK. What says the 200 community?

Not bad for what I’ve seen. Seems even a little low, but perhaps it’s right on based on condition/history.

I posted that in this thread back in Nov ish I think.

It was 95k miles. Has minor rust, but most importantly an oil leak. And zero Maintenance/Carfax records. It has bumpers, skid, drawers, roof rack, but cheaply lifted (OME nitro) stiff springs when unloaded, and it squeaks as it drives.

Lots of people went to see it, including at least another mudder, and walked away. It sat for a month for a reason.

If the 3UR didn't cost so much to repair, I'd buy that already. I'm willing to pay extra for an HE, but that particular case I'd rather buy a non HE for $60k and not risk a big repair bill in the near future.

The person who bought it must really know what they're doing, or had no clue. I think me and most "normal" LC enthusiast with "normal" driveway mechanic skills would have walked away.
