Sorry if you've already told us, but is that Freeborn Red and what kind of paint are you using? Also. what type of spraygun? Chris is right you are an inspiration

Freeborn red. We have a winner! :bounce: Yeah I'm a sucker for red also. Especially with the white top. If you saw the paint It may not be an insperation...:crybaby: Actually it came out well.

I used:
PPG Aluminum cleaner/conditioner
PPG Steel cleaner/conditoner
PPG DP74lf epoxy Primer.
PPG Delstar Acrylic Enamel (single Stage) for a more factory look.
-And finally on the frame, Tractor paint. Some old school epoxy nothing special like rust not or por15, only cause I'm cheap!

The spray gun is hvlp $99 set from Vasper!?

Nothing special, Mommy(wife) thinks I spend enough.:flipoff2: you know gotta all the special tools. i.e. Dewault 18v cordless etc.

Ah whatever!

I think I can....I think I can....I think I can....I think I can....

Slowly but surely

Tub and cowl are mounted for good. Now it's time to paint the joint and Tub, and More durabek on the inside. I started putting the interior back together becasue I'm tired of doing body work....

Just a little test fit to make sure everything lines up before paint...

Rear doors came from Marks Offroad. I made the rear bumper from a front bumper from JT Outfitters. Just cut a few inchs off and shaped it a bit... some cold rolled spacers and who would have known.

WOW! Really nice work. Its going to take a while, but from what I've seen it will be worth it in the end. I too am a sucker for the Freeborn, but I cant fathom changing the color of my junk to anything other than stock...well, for the moment at least. Keep up the good work!

Mike

Thank's,
I think I'll actually get quite a bit done this memorial day weekend....If I can get off this couch!

More pics from today! I got the topcoat onto the fenders and mounted them to the frame. Not much painting left...Just part of the tub, the hood and rear doors...oh and the hard top.

I was very pleased with the outcome of the paint. This is my first resto w/paint and I fell like a monkey F&*(^(*ng a football.
