I really thought there would be some videos of Moonshine rolling coal by now.

That may also be the largest tip ever installed on a 60...I like it!

Love the t/t Supra!

How tough is getting the deadening off? Been wanting to do it, but looked like such a pain even with dry ice?

It's a PITA any way you cut it. Dry ice should make it easier but I like the solid gasket scraper and hammer method. My method puts some scratches in the sheet metal but I'm coating it anyway so it doesn't matter.

To make it a bit tolerable, I've been taking the tar off in sections. I did between the front seats and cargo area first, then the passenger front area next, then just now the driver front area. Last will be under the DS seat and the cargo area, then the Spectrum goes down. I haven't used dry ice but try to chip the stuff out when it's cold out, so that helps.

Even though it's a PITA to chip this tar crap out, I think the work is worth it because the stuff I'm going to put down will not only look better, but it will work better as well.

I haven't even adjusted the fuel yet! I promise, I will turn the fuel up and take some videos of Moonshine rolling the coal. Patience my friend, patience :D

The tip will be a rock magnet, so I'm thinking about ways to make it removable. I'm thinking that the last 2' of the exhaust system will be easily disconnected with a set of v-band clamps. I'll have the tip for street driving and a straight pipe tucked up high for trail riding. What do you think?

Sounds like a great idea. I love v-bands, I'll never use a bolt together exhaust flange again!

Not that I can remember. Just do it at a shallow angle.

Check out the video:

That looks pretty easy. Two significant differences with the 60 though:
1. The factory sound deadening isn't nearly that pliable
2. The ribs in the floor prevent you from using such a large blade. A 1/2" blade is necessary, which would be much more likely to punch through the floor than a 3 or 4" wide blade like in the video.

Definitely worth trying though!

love those pipes

Wow to say the least. Once you get the sludge on you will like it. But I bet u will still need heat shields on those monster pipes . As always looking good. What a rig!! !!

Johnny,
Have you taken your rig for a long drive yet? I have taken mine to Idaho Falls a couple of times, over Teton Pass and the shorter Pine Creek Pass both ways. About 100 miles each way. I swear it runs better after a couple of long trips. And fuel mileage? Great. I haven't actually done the calculations as I don't ever top the tank off, but it's somewhere over 25 MPG for the trip. This thing is sipping fuel. And, the only vehicles that are out-powering me on the way up the pass are diesels and V-8s with the pedal to the floor. You're going to love that truck more and more!

Thank you sir! I do like the sludge. Super thick stuff :D

Johnny,
I was noticing that the same guy designed both of our rear bumpers. Lol.

Like that? Mr. T special :hillbilly:

I have taken her for a couple of ~90 mile drives, but the first long drive will be this weekend. I have found the same awesome advantages, with less fuel consumption and more power. I absolutely love this motor and I haven't even turned it up yet!!!

I intend to accurately calculate my mileage on my trip to Charleston from Raleigh this weekend. Should give me a real good look at what my highway mileage is.

My Spectrum liner, Cruiser Crap and carpet kit showed up at some point last week and I just got a chance today to get some work done. Took out my interior ( again ) and pounded out the last of the factory insulation crap.

Cleaned with Xylene then brake cleaner:

I used ~1.25 gallons to put three coats on the entire floor pan. I was planning on doing 4 but I think 3 will be more than enough. Thank you Doc for the advice!

This stuff has to cure for 36 hours, then I'll lay out my Cruiser Crap and install the carpet!!

Thanks Doc!! I'm looking forward to driving this truck once the interior is put back in.

Hopefully I'll see you at an event this year! I want to see your truck as well. :grinpimp:
