Johnny, have you used the 4bt block heater yet? I'm wondering how well that works. I just ordered a cable for mine, didn't think I'd need one in Texas. Is it something you leave on all night or just 15 minutes before you start for the day.

I used it all the time this winter! It works really well. I found that my motor would take too long for my liking to run smoothly when it was below 20* overnight, so I got an outlet timer and run the heater for about 1.5 hours before I leave for the day.

thanks bud, looks like I might be trekking down that road if the temps continue like they are. When it's cold my volt meter doesn't even read anymore, but comes back to normal when the temperature rises.

Just ordered a new one for mine. I have an oil heater and block heater on Goss. Having to replace mine because it pops the outside GFCI breaker. Hopefully it is just the cord that is internally damaged or I will have to take the turbo etc.. off to swap mine out..

I have the 1000W Kats heater.

I like to use my block heater when it gets in the 30s and below. It's mostly to reduce the warm up time and reduce wear on cold starts. I do the same as J where I have it set on a timer to kick on the block heater to warm up the engine for 1-1.5 hrs before I leave for work in the morning.

I'm too excited to keep this a secret. Going to pick this guy up on Sunday.

That's nice, so a D60 and another 14B!

You probably know this, but here is near 100% chance that 14 bolt will have a Detroit locker in it.

The front D60 unfortunately will have a "gov-lock" POS which you'll need to replace with an ARB. 4.56 gearing which may be useful.

Thats badass! my grandpa had an old m1008 that he used around his farm. Ahh good times haha. Have fun with it!

I'm gonna put the 4BT drivetrain from Moonshine into it, then drive it around.

I know you have a 14 bolt rear and I can't remember if it's you or another 4bt on this forum that has 60s in the front as well. So I'm wondering if this came with anything extra you didn't already have that you are planning to swap out. Or are you just going to part it out? either way, congrats.

The rear definitely has a detroit, so that'll get sold, or traded, for something. ARB is what I'm thinking too :D

Sweet! This truck's life is going to be short and rough. I'm going to cut/rip/yank the valuable parts (to me anyway) off of it and scrap the rest.

Hahaha, just your way of having fun with it :p

You should have a low mile SM465 too. Not sure which t-case but likely a 205.

The D60 is missing the hubs, you likely saw that. Warn makes a replacement set but all the bad-a rock guys just run slugs. I'd look for hubs.

Most of these trucks had very few actual miles. My axle set came from one with 40K miles.

And...you get a sweet GM diesel too!
