basically we will all be drinking chucks beer and barking orders at him........ we don't actually do any work that is what chuck is for :D

This is a good post. I like this post.

Chuck, Have all the right fittings there and remember the new water heaters have 1 inch pipe threads at the top outlets. you will need reducing couplings or adapters from 1 inch to whatever size you presently have. Have the stuff ready and its a one hour job...be sure and drain the old heater before we get there or we'll kill you.

Was that too harsh? NAH!!

all the water heaters at my old work (Plumbing supply) were 3/4" IPS in and out. Brand depends on male or female threads.

Whirlpool will work but definately isnt the best (Look who sells them)

Good luck its not a long or bad job if you can find a heater of similar size.

Maybe I should be glad I cant attend now. I dealt with enough water heaters when living in VA. We had problems with lime buildup and had 1 heater go out on us. messing with a heater under a set of stairs was a pain.

hey chuck maybe we can all come back over on Sunday and we can renovate your house too :D.......... seriously though sorry to hear about your bad luck, but thank god for marshall. I think what we need to do is clone marshall a couple of times that way we can each have our own little marhsall, doing cut-n-turns, tranny rebuilds, knuckle rebuilds, and finding killer deals on cruiser parts and not to mention his domesticated skills :flipoff2:

WHen I worked for an apartment complex I used to be able to change one out in 22 minutes flat. That included cutting and sweating the pipe and removing the old one. SOmething tell me chucks is going to take longer. Maybe an hr. SO there will be little plumbing and a lot of cruiser wrenching.

Chuck make sure you get a new TP valve. I've got all the tools.

They used to be 3/4. I just had to replace mine. A whirlpool is 1 ".

As Marshall said I'll be startin at 8 and he and alex and alan will be there at that time. Alan can you bring your welder please? If everything goes well with the axles we'll weld on the perches too. Marshall we'll need your angle finder thing. I'm gonna borrow an electric impact wrench to help take off the old axle. Marshall is bringin a shop jack so we can roll out the old axle....I have the tranny jack. If you can think of an other tools please bring them. I can't get on mud at work so if you need to call me or have questions give me a call on my cell - 864-367-3000. Thanks a bunch guys!!

Chuck

Oh I never said I would be there at 8. I just said we will be arriving together. 8 is pretty early for me to get up on a staurday and after having brochitis this week I'll be lucky to get there by ten. Thats the time I put on the calandar. I'd say that is a good starting time. If anyone wants to come earlier just know Chuck will be up and working on his cruiser unsupervised.. lol... That might get us there quicker.

Good luck fellas I hope you get a lot of good work done to Chucks cruiser I want to see Chucks 40 and my 55 running and driving before JP gets his 40 going again. I got my carb back so I can start that next week on my days off from class. Also when you draw a new name out of the hat go ahead and toss Malphrus in there this time. JP and I talked to him the other day and hes actually been doing a little work lately and I told him we'd put his name in. More for Alans sake to try and get that 40 out of his barn, but it might be good to see Malph back out again.

Try 10 am, comrade. See you guys there.

Well folks, I was there lastweekend (by myself that is... ), but I won't be able to make it this weekend.... the cruiser is the only vehicle I've got down here, and right now she don't want to play nice. My starter went out last week, just got the new one in today, and the battery is dead.... Sorry Chuck, wish I could be there to help out. BTW, if anyone has a trickle down charger and wants to let me borrow it, I'd be real appreciative.

He does have a certain kind of style. As yet undefined:grinpimp:

Well the cruiser is packed. I'm bringing all kinds of crap I won't need or use but you never know. Plumbing crap, jack, air compressor and air tools. Selant, thread locker bearings gears and no perches. SOrry chuck I couldn't find them I think I tossed them. Grinder, torque wrench, 3rd member, and all kinds of crap.

I'll throw in a heater. A small one. It's going to be cold tomorrow and raining. Anyone have a shop heater (ready heater we could plug in or somethinng radiant.

Looking for the beer.
