89s rule said:all the water heaters at my old work (Plumbing supply) were 3/4" IPS in and out. Brand depends on male or female threads.
Whirlpool will work but definately isnt the best (Look who sells them)
Good luck its not a long or bad job if you can find a heater of similar size.
