I applied monstaliner to the roof of my 80 series four years ago and it has held up great and has not faded. A few years ago i got stuck in a hail storm and the monstaliner on the roof totally prevented any hail damage, so yes it does provide some rigidity.

I'm not sure how I missed this thread before...Regardless, the results look excellent! If you don't mind me asking, what was your totally cost including prep?

I need to Monstaline my trailer as the paint on it is super thin. The front has started to get little rust spots from all the stones getting thrown up on it by my back tires.

Thanks! Probably was $500, but maybe 18 hours of my time.

how does mud do with monstaliner? Will red clay come off easily? I've been looking at painting my trailer like @geanes is

If this quarantine would end I’ll let yeah know. It doesn’t show hardly any normal dirt/road grime for daily duties.

Ha- Southern red clay stain doesn't come off ANYTHING.

Still super happy with this stuff!!

Truck looks awesome!
And for those asking about the dirt/mud on the surface. From my understanding, the texture really doesn't cling to the dirt/grime/mud and so it sprays off pretty easily. Now this is VERY reliant on your surface texture so keep that in mind.
Also, there is an entire MonstaLiner thread in the Paint forum, maybe check with the members there if you are truly interested in results.

Has anyone lined just the rocker/lower door portion below the trim, on a hundy? I have that southern dealer two tone paint scheme and I think it sucks. I was considering monstalining over that portion with tintable monstaliner, and adding toner to match my 056 toyota white paint. Has anyone done something similar? Any pics? Any opinions?

Great looking truck! I've been mulling over Monstalining my rig for a couples years now and feel its time to pull the trigger. Did you end up lining the door handles? The clear coat on my handles is peeling pretty good, as well as the hood, roof, etc. If so, what was your process? Also, how well does it hide minor body damage? Thinking small door dings...I understand anything substantial will need to be repaired before coating.

I haven't decided on my handles yet, they are still original. Luckily my color is so close you can't hardly tell. I also bought some black mirrors off ebay (for a RHD unfortinately but they do work fine) as my mirrors didn't come out great.

As for small dings, it does not conceal nearly as much as you would expect. Very minor door dings (something you could see standing 2-3 feet front he vehicle) are probably ok. If you can see it from 5 feet away, it probably won't do a great job concealing it. Its thick, but thick for paint, we are still talking about automotive coating here which is measured in thousandths...dings definitely still show thru. Luckily my body is very straight, my paint was just awful.

I think that looks great, curious to see how it fares over time. I debated doing something like this on The 'Melon when the clear coat gave up the ghost, but ended painting it a different color with regular paint. Your 100 looks amazing, by the way, I love the overall build. How's that roof rack holding up?

Still super stoked on this monstaliner job. Got endless comments/looks/questions in Colorado a few weeks back.

Not sure if you answered this before but how many liters/gallons did you use?

2 gallon kit, but that doesn’t count my roof which was done in black raptor, and I didn’t do my jambs.
