Not far from Stillwaters\Oxford. Just down 29 a few miles. Let me bust a$$ this week, and see if I can finish by this weekend and stop by. (We were planning to go anyway.. K2, Stillwaters, Longs ranch, Canyon's is literally in my backyard..)
a supplier was delayed on shipping me a grey water storage tank, so im one week behind on the conversion from gooseneck to RV.

95 days!!!! :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

aint even gotta motor in mine right now, oly chit man!
I think I've about decided what I'm gonna [try to] do before Moab:

Definitely pulling the driveline and resealing the cases. Hopefully nothing to fix, but been hearing some funny noises lately that may be a bearing going out too.
Going to shoot for front 3-link swap as well. Front springs, shackles and bushings are all messed up and my steering is still "rigged" to work with leaves but is designed for links. Already have 90% of the parts, just need to start. Biggest unknown is finding someone to do some basic tube work.

if Murrah in Birmingham can help me round out the cage work on my punchlist....
You might travel to Birmingham for tube work? There's probably someone in Florida/closer that could accomodate

I tried. Whit was trying to fit it into his schedule, but he was too busy. I'm not keen to make the drive but it's kinda down to knowing it'll get done by someone with experience/reputation to get it done right. Expect to have a final estimate tonight/tomorrow and if we're good - it goes up on the 2nd. Either way, freaking rain is killing my productivity.

Rain has been brutal over here too. Besides Whit, I don't know of anyone else close.

This thread has gotten so long I have lost track of dates.
Arrive Sand Hollow afternoon of Sept 16, Depart Sept. 20 or later.
When do we plan to depart Moab?

pretty sure this is where we left it...

Unless I'm missing something I'm pretty sure we're zeroing in on the 9/15-9/30 dates short something unforeseen. That said I'll just to kick the can around a few more times for fun.

Ted
Your dates are really good for me, there is some flexibility if needed for others.

Just to be clear are you all planning on leaving Moab on Monday 30 Sept. or being home on Monday?

Dont matter to me but i suspect everyone will need to be back at work monday.

Need @4xsteve and @Sputnik40 to chime in though

Not everyone!!! Lol

I plan to depart Sunday morning and get home Monday "some time". I will likely take Monday off just to have some leeway with travel time.

Planning to take Friday before and Monday after off, then again I've got an extra 10 hours to drive.

Check out the beta ORIs.

That's Eric Hagan's buggy build!

For those of us who haven't been out there yet, any suggestions on a packing list for gear? Not talking about tools, spares, etc.

My biggest worry is having my punchlist done and not having major trailer issues. Once there, I don't really know what to expect ;-)

After that moab prep will be full on tilt.

Talked to Spanky yesterday, he is good with the dates, we plan to leave Manchester on the 14th and leave Moab on the 29th. We will be pulling the 4 Car with his Peterbilt. Ted and Ben we will need your trucks at my place by the 12th. Now all I have to do is get Spankys 40 reworked, redoing links with heims, many electrical issues, fuel filter and brake lines.

We will be camping at both sites, so petty much like packing for GSMTR, need shorts and long pants, even if days are hot it cools down after sunset. I plan to bring a stove and some cooking supplies. Looks like at Sand Hollow it will be a bit longer drive to town than Moab so may eat more meals in camp. In Moab we will come through town on way back from a lot of the trails so frequently stop for dinner. Not sure at Sand Hollow but at Moab we will not be back in camp for lunch, and some days maybe long.

I WAAAAAY over packed for camping last time and will most certainly simplify this go around. Will leave at home the camp stove, frig, big cooler etc. more in favor of using Grandpa's grill and a smaller cooler capable of 1-2 days worth of food instead of 3 or 4. Grocery store is only about 8 miles away and we'll make frequent trips into town to restock and/or eat out.

I think the only "real" camping we'll be doing in at Sand Hollow for 4 nights which does have a bathhouse. Camping at Grandpa's is a relative statement as we'll literally be in his fenced in back yard with access to a shower/bathroom and electricity. Most nights we either eat out, do the communal thing or even order pizzas.

Rain is not much of a factor either but not zero so plan accordingly - Rain jackets can probably stay at home.

At the end of the day whatever we dont take we can always buy if needed so I'm going minimal on camping equipment which saves room for spare parts.

The weather averages for 20 Sept. hi 85 low 51, record high 97, record low 31.
