Since I am not familiar with everybody's background, I was wondering if there is an EMT in our group? Some other questions: How remote are some of the trails in Moab? What kind of hospital does Moab have? How long, distance wise, would the overnight trips be? If we do not have an EMT in the group who has a good First Aid Kit? Does CLC as a group have a top notch first aid kit? If not, could we get one? I will be happy to make a donation towards it.

Of course we have a whole year to figure all this out. I am just stuck in a hotel in Calgary with time on my hands.

Hope you guys had a good weekend in the heat down south. Its 14c here and the Canadian Rockies still got lots of snow on em.

Den Mom has a Med Kit that rivals a MASH unit. Plus we always carry Goose on a trip. So no matter the problem, you can get drunk and pass out then we will operate.

Mark, can you trail-fix a busted shunt?

Everyone on the BOD is a surgeon.

Not remote at all. McDonalds and CVS at every turn.

What kind of hospital does Moab have?
Good ones with electricity.

How long, distance wise, would the overnight trips be?
2-3 miles tops.

If we do not have an EMT in the group who has a good First Aid Kit?
Obione spivey can heal you with an empty beer bottle.

Does CLC as a group have a top notch first aid kit?
I do.

If not, could we get one?
Chris says Denmom has a nurses outfit.

I will be happy to make a donation towards it.
PM me for an address.

See above.

I have vodka and duct tape.....

Amtrak - Jackson, MS to Green River, UT: $304 Round Trip

Depart Jackson Friday 5:44 PM on the "City of New Orleans" headed north
Arrive Union Station CHICAGO, IL Saturday 9:00 AM
5 hour lunch in Chicago
Depart Chicago Saturday 2:00 PM on the "California Zephyr" headed west
Arrive Green River, UT Sunday 5:58 PM
48 Hours 14 Minutes
Green River to Moab: 52.43 miles

Return trip would start in Green River at 8:39AM on Friday and arrive in Jackson at 11:20 AM on Sunday.

I would think it would cost near $304 in fuel one way. Plus one hotel room each way.
1450 miles / 14.5 MPG = 100 gallons X $2.80 per gallon = $280

Well, its something to think about.

Will they let you bring a loaded cooler on a train?

I would rather be eaten alive by pigs than ride a train for 51 hours one way and then do it again to get home.
Lash if you want to go ride with me.

Lash - Think of all the junk yards between here and Moab!
Chris- Nurses Outfit? Hot Damn! I'm in!!!

J-Rob has a CDL. I drive big trucks every day (USAF doesn't require a CDL). Had a CDL but it has expired. Clutchee has expressed an interest as well. If he goes then I call a spot on his trailer! Either way I can get my junk there. Hell, I might have an 80 by then.

Yall are a bunch of comedians. :) Should have know that Mark has all the skillz. And that Chris had a nurses outfit for Deb.

I get paid to manage risk and worry about worse case scenarios and also drink beer at bars around the world. I will stick with drinking beer from here on out for Moab.

Don't be that way.... if Deb actually showed up in a nurses outfit I'd prolly need CPR or sumthin...

This sounds like a great trip. Cruise Moab would be fun but I personally can make that event that time of the year. Would you put up with a few Cajun tagalongs? :) If so I will pitch it to our group I think a handful would go. Like Lenny last time I road Moab was in a rented heep on some 33's and couldn't believe the traction and the trails we tackled in it. I've looked forward to going back in one of my own rigs. and looks like a good group to do it with.

.

Thats like fingernails on a chalkboard..

I couldn't do it, man. I rather ride on a lawnmower through the ghetto with money taped to me...

Mike,

I am an expert in Bronx CPR. I am also an instructor:

Here are the steps.

1.Approach patient wearing gold chain

2.Hover over patient and shout!

GET UP BEFORE YOU FREAKIN' DIE !

Its that easy

This makes no sense Lenny. Ghettos don't have grass.
