Where part of the Cahaba? My farm is on the Cahaba in Perry county and we donated the land in Dallas County to the nature conservancy to build the canoe launch on the Cahaba river down there before it intersects with the Alabama river at the old Cahawba town site.

On the National Wildlife Refuge in Bibb County. At the time I was doing an amphibian and reptile inventory of the refuge for the USFWS. I've worked eith some of the TNC folks in the B'ham office.

Cool. Those snakes are everywhere. We had such an issue with trespassers on this property, that we donated 5 acres to build a launch where hwy 22 crosses the Cahaba about five miles before it dumps into the Alabama. Named it after my grandfather.

@paplud and I made a run down the Trace to the Shaffer House. This is the site of one of the first and major battles of General Grant's campaign through Mississippi.

The road into this place, 5 miles outside of Port Gibson is epic.

This spot is one of my favorite places to photograph......

As I said before, the road in and out of the Shaffer House is epic. The house is really great with lots of historical markers along the way and at the house.
