Making great progress! Almost there. As with every project, always seems like those little things at the end take the longest and go up against all of the obstacles.

You need to move further south...wouldn't have to worry about your sewer freezing!! I must say...those people ice fishing are crazy :)

ok.... here are your last pics of the shop..... we are basicly done with the electrical... got a few cover plates to put on and wire in the plug for the lift (just hooked in directly now) and also switch a few outlets for a GFI problem with how I hooked them up... basicly will take about another 1 hour or so... well maybe 2 with a beer break inbetween... :D

Pretty much worked all weekend on the shop again.. My dad was here both sat and sun.... Got to give a huge thanks to him for all his help on this electrical... I would be lost without it.... He did all the bending of the conduit, figured all the wires that need to be pulled through, and mostly I hooked things up, but only with him showing me how...It looks great!!!

Turned out to be a much bigger progect than I thought... 3 different rows of lights on, each on its own switch, celing fan, 220 for AC, 2 yard lights, 2 outside outlets, 4 different circuits running all the wall outlets (15 in total all on GFI), the furnace with switch disconnect, 220 for car lift, 2 other 220 outlets (one for welder and one for compressor)

ok well I did turn the switch on that lift and the motor did turn on... that is all I did... need to get some fluid and one small cable to run the locker... then that will work ( I hope) post up a pic of the LC in the air soon....

here are a few of the wiring all done...

PS only got shocked twice!!! :grinpimp:

That's awesome. I like how even stored on top of a windowsill you've got the bezel upright. :)

Are you just running one welder outlet, or two on opposite sides of the room? We only have one in our shop, and it's amazing how often we have to plug in the big welder-extension cord my Dad made to move the welder or plasma cutter to where we need it. You can never find an outlet fast enough when you're angry!

My main Lincon wire feed welder is a 110 so I can move it anywhere... my other Buzz Box welder I will really have only the one plug in for it now... however I could in about 15 min add a plug in under the AC unit for it and just not run the AC and welder at the same time...

at this point I have not welded anything since 8th grade shop class... :bang: so got some learing to do.. so what I have is going to be 200% better than what I had before...

Nice project. Maybe we will see you at the OHV park in Gilbert sometime.

would have made it this year but had a wedding that weekend... I will make it there some day

#1 got the engine running again..., timing was off
#2 have a cocktail/beer
#3 have a cocktail/beer
#4 put the linkage on the carb and hook up the gas peddle
#5 have a cocktail/beer
#6 have a cocktail/beer
#7 finish putting the steering linkage up
#8 have a cocktail/beer
#9 move the steering gear box to about where it needs to be and redrill holes, all while have another cocktail/beer
#10 figure out all my break lines are the wrong size fitting on there......
#11 rip all them out...
#12 go to the parts store buy all the lines they had.. and double flare tool... (which is a huge piece of s***... ended up borrowing another snap on tool)
#13 could not get the flaring to work... ended up being the cutter we were using.. did not find this out until the next day..
#14 hooked up drive shaft and drove away... no breaks.. :D
#15 have a cocktail/beer
#16 have a cocktail/beer

*** lots of things not included on the list that I just can not remeber... too many cocktails.. :grinpimp:

we had dinner after this and did nothing for a while... MILLHOUSE and I some how got lucky and got one end to flare. that was all we needed to finish the front breaks so we bleed them and took it out again to see how it worked... this was at 4AM... My neighbors are probably pissed... :hillbilly:

Thanks so much for all your help guys!!! I would never have gotten this far in one day without your help!!!!

all the pics I have of driving suck because it is too dark...

Love the gas tank. I guess it won't rust like the stock tank :)

Looking good. Nothing like driving your restoration for the first time out of the garage on its own power.

Do you have the exhaust hooked up? If not, I bet that thing was loud for your neighbors.

Hey, the rebuild is looking good and the shop is to. Man love to have a lift like that, would make life easy.

I see you had a few problems with sewage & broken hot glass due to cold weather.

I had the opposite last week up at the beach house, electrical storm, was ouside working on the FJ mid afternoon when it hit and damn close, everything disappeared the flash was that bright. Just like someone getting you with a flash from a camera, turned around and all the garden lights are on and the power switch was off, that much energy in the ground the 12v dc lights were glowing because the strike powered the transformers capacitors up.

Damn scarey, couple people in the village had there phones melt.

Is that Poser in the drivers "stool"? Just wondering. Talked to him a bunch but never seen him. Love that sweat shirt! Wonder where he got it?

That is the man in the flesh... heard he sent you some more shirts???? you must make millions off that guy... never seen him without something with a LC on.. :D

got nothing on the LC done this weekend... finally got some shelving in the shop so I could actually move the rest of my stuff in there.... will be nice working out of one shop and not have stuff scatter inbetween 3 garages

Had a problem with the lift this weekend.. had my buddies Chevy truck up on it... got it to the top and the synchronizing cable came off the pully.... thank god it was already locked in.... well now we had a 6000 LB truck 9 feet in the air and I did not know how to get it down... :o the lift would go down but both arms wanted to travel at a different speed.... so that presented a huge problem.....

Ended up having to have one guy on each locker and racket it down one position at at time... took us about an hour to figure we could do that... :bang: still glad it did not fall and no one got hurt... but I need to take those cables all apart again and see what in the world I am doing wrong setting that up... and of course I need to change that oil pan (which should be here this week) so I need to get it done... got a full week of after work activities this week so dont know if I will get to it... :meh:
