Yep, I told my my wife i could do 2 of these a year, and I would have no more than $20k into each (reality ck)

you should call this "the "realist" build thread"
 
It will be worth it when done. Repeat as many times as needed until it's believed. It's our duty to keep them going, no matter what.

Just in case you were wondering what happened to the build, bodyshop stopped working on my truck, put it out in weather without primer, paid too much. When I cancelled contract owner would not release, had to have my attorney contact this FJ55 TERRORIST, just got it back this last week in a thousand pieces( thought I would puke when I saw her) but she is back, time to start all over- pretty embarrassing as he said with his head hung low

Ouch... No bueno.
 
That is how mine ended up dying.

Body shop killed the project and the guy I bought it from took the new OME lift off it and parked it in a barn for 10 years.

I got it. Put it back together and then sent it out to another body/paint guy who took my money and told me lies for 10 months.

I finally recovered it and rattle canned it.

Could not be happier. It’s mechanically near perfect and looks like a nasty Warthog to boot.
