Hello guys,
We are driving the world in a Landcruiser series 80 1997 turbo automatic. We are now in Brazil and a mechanic strongly suggested us to use an anti-friction material in the motor, transmission differential and all the other moving parts.
The material is produced in USA and it is called Militec-1.
Do you have any idea about this product?
Do you have any experience?
Do you recommend it?

Thank you very much

Kimmron

Keep moving, and I'm sure you changed fluids before you embarked.
If you do go the way of snake oil, I would consult with a Psychic to know if your engine will fail in near future.

I agree with the above statements. If your engine/transmission fluids are so bad as to need additives change brands.

Perhaps your gulability will decrease the probability of your survivability on such a grand endeavor.

Actually, it does sound like a hell of a lot of fun. Be a little more wary of salesmen offering muffler bearings and blinker fluid and you'll be fine.

Good luck on your adventure and keep us posted when you can. John

I think it is a great idea! No, No, only joking, I have 47 years under the bonnet and have seen more 'anti wear' additives than I have seen flies. Never seen any proof that they do anything in fact, there was one many years ago, that actually damaged engines. The Molybdenum 'flakes' were 'X' microns to big and blocked the oil filter.

Ignore the sales pitch and move on.

regards

Dave

Guys,
Tks a lot for your responses.
I will not do it of course. Almost done it but hesitated and waited for your answers.
Now in Savador/ Bahia/Brazil heading North and then at Sao Luis heading West and travelling the Transmazonica. It is supposed to be a real adventure. I will keep u posted if anyone is interested.
Tks again,
