Buddy had a Yamaha RD350 triple 2 stroke crazy wheelie and reverse burn out machine! If he blew a fuse he used foil frome cigarette or gum wrapper for fuse 🤔🧐😘. Reverse Burnouts came from when 2 stroke engine was at TDC and hit the Kill switch and then on it would fire in reverse 😳😯🤪. Harley dudes would freak out at reverse Smokeshow 😯😳🧐🤔🙂🤣🤣🤣

Used the fuse and gum wrapper trick to help out a college buddy I found late one night driving the Mullion Dollar Highway from Ouray to Silverton sans headlights and holding a flashlight out the driver window.

It’s all magic to me. How all those ohms and volts and amps and positives and grounds coexist inside those tiny wires. And all those colors and stripes! Beyond swapping fuses I’m lost.

The girls flew to Vegas to see the Jonas Brothers and Ed Sheeran...er to NOT see Ed Sheeran. So I called my friend up and did a little 2 nighter on Thomas Mountain. It is about 2 hours or less from where I live and just south of the town called Idyllwild. Not much in the way of trails for off road other than the loop to the camp sites and the top of the mountain. Still the sites are pretty nice and we had a good time just BSing and had some good food and good drink. Ed Sheeran has rescheduled his concert to 10/28, so I get to go camping again. It's a win in my book.

Good Night

Great climbing up there- Tahquitz. The weather probably was perfect!
The weather was nice. A lot better than down in the valleys. We even got light rain Sunday morning. It was still pleasant and kept the dust down on ride out.

That was me for about a week when I thought my AC/Heater broke. It was ticking and eventually stopped blowing air on my way back from Thomas Mountain. So I was lurking the Vintage Air site for the biggest, blowiest, evaporatoriest(?) ac unit I could fit under the dash. I was already designing an extension for my console to join the dash and put the vents in there with some other fun doodads. I guess after 18 years of marriage (last saturday) my wife's sense of responsibility may be rubbing off on me. I decided to drop the unit and see if it was toast or not. Turns out there was an RCA wire squirreled up in the blower and it was the reason it stopped blowing. This cable is for the rear camera on my new stereo unit. I already have a backup camera so I wired this to work on a switch instead of triggered by going in reverse. I plan on putting the camera up front in or under the bumper somewhere so I can see the upcoming terrain. I just haven't found a good mounting point so I just let the wire hang out behind the stereo.

I have a cheap Amazon knock off heater unit and it isnt enough to battle the desert heat. I was going to put a rear ac unit in the truck and now that I probably wont upgrade the front unit, that is more likely now.

This is the unit I am going with. Should sit behind and between the front seats and still blow towards the front with those top blowy vents.

I've looked at those, red dot seems to be a good one. I read somewhere it's recommended to have it's own compressor. I don't know if big vehicles like Suburban's have dual compressors or not. I was thinking about the Vintage Air for the front and one of those in back, at least that was before my tire bounce. My Resto Mod unit has been a pain and now the company doesn't support my unit with parts.

Please review it's performance when installed.

According to Rockauto OEM vehicles do not have 2 compressors. You have the option when choosing a compressor if it is with rear ac or not. When you look at the serial numbers of the 2 options, they are the exact same item. So, I feel like my new compressor I installed will do just fine with the added unit. I am a little more worried I need a bigger condenser. I think it is under sized now and will be even worse with rear ac. So, I am trying to find the biggest one I can fit in front.

I will of course, report back to the group. It might be early next year before I tackle it. I need to get going on the trailer asap.

Something else I never looked into is where and how do you splice into the a/c lines if only using one compressor? Do they make a tee fitting for that?

I will just have a hose company make it custom. But, ya I will need a tee for in and out.

This goes on a 2010 Suburban.

Rockauto SUCKS. Ordered 2 drive belts from them, 1 from 1 area and another from a different area. Got 1 belt delivered and the excuse for 2md belt was driver returned it to warehouse! Ya so WTF where be the rest of me order Dummies 😲😳😉🤔🧐🙂🤣🤣🤣

It's a big spot. Could get a mini pig party on the site alone. A friend was trying to camp nearby but got skunked and ask if they could crash. Now we have company.

Man, that looks like a great spot. You've been getting some camping in this year.
I really am trying to get as much as possible. Have another trip at end of October and I think I'm doing a November trip too. Pig is running good, no reason not to stretch its legs.
