make the frame lean into the truck. I found that the air pressure differential at 70mph will push the frames out.
just a thought.

Thank you sir. That's what I did. :)

This is awesome! I took a rare foray into the 40-series section and just happened across your build. Nice to see another TDI/LandCruiser build! I'm putting an ALH in my 70-series Prado.

Just out of curiosity, what injectors are you using? Also, who did your tuning? I'm trying to decide how far to go with tuning on mine, it already has a Malone stage 3 and a GT1749A. :)

Thanks! I am using Bosio 520 race nozzles. I have a Malone tune as well. So anyone who does Malone I think can get the same tune I have. With this turbo 03G145702H and an intake manifold from an 04 Passat Tdi and then a PD150 intake. I am getting pretty close to having it ready to drive. Getting pretty excited! :)

So jealous right now. I still have 4-5ish months before mines ready.

Trust me, don't be jealous!! There is a ton of real estate between drivable and done!! :) But, a drive around the yard would really pick up motivation!

Yes sir! I can’t wait until I’m ready to start the engine.

I have made a seriously massive decision today, after 2 years of internal debate about my labor of love...

Due tell..

As my beautiful bride and close friends could tell you, I have had a serious internal struggle/debate about paint color. And I mean serious...

I’ve finally decided to go with Toyota Cement for paint.

I have made massive life altering decisions that were far easier than this. I guess it goes to show how deep this sickness has infiltrated my psyche.

@Jetlander My wife and I picked our color together. But, it was the hardest part.. I must have painted and cleared 50 different paint sample cards. Until we settled on the green. And, even now my wife will see me on the forum and she will say "oooohh what color is that? I think I like that one better than the one we picked" I just laugh and tell her its too late..

I can relate. My wife prefers the Cement color so hopefully she doesn’t change her mind. After dropping 6-$7,000 on paint is not the time to decide you don’t like it.
This colour is amazing on our trucks ... you will not regret it, but I'm a little biased Lol
Cheers
Steve

Here is why I have been pushing so hard to get this finished. I was hoping to beat this little guy! Born on Friday Feb 1st. Meet my first son! :)
I also got him his first book!

Thanks you guys! We are pretty stoked. And his older sisters are already spoiling him.. And my beautiful bride said she is feeling good and told me to plan a couple days working on the 40 while I am off work!! She is awesome!

I dropped these off at the powder coater on Wed and was able to pick them up last night!! Pretty awesome service. And when I got there they had these silicone plugs in all the thread holes, so the threads are all clean, pretty awesome to see that as well. I was worried that I would need to tap everything...

Sorry this pic is blurry... I had the running boards coated black as well, I figured if I didn't like them black I could paint them green.

Congrats on the new addition! I was in your shoes a few months ago (6 months, today, in fact) trying to finish up the V8 swap and get it all back together before my daughter arrived. I've accomplished precious little on the 40 ever since, but kids are awesome! You're in for a hell of a ride.

Just curious what your powder coater charged. Getting ready to take mine.

Thanks

It was $125 for the soft top kit (with 2 extra bars-one over the driver/pass and one extra in the rear) and the running boards. I didn't think that was bad at all. Especially with the turn around time!
