I am headed out as well see you guys at aunt sues

you guys are going to love my getto windshield, well that is if it holds together for the trip :D

All I can say is wow. That is a trail! Right off his back porch. As far as side angles and pitch that is about as extreme as I would want to go. There was one section that is so steep that on comming down My EGR valve was doing nothing but sucking oil. That is steep. Becca and I ended up having to turn around about half way because it was getting late and baby comes first. For Beccas first time wheeling she did great and had a blast.

I'll post pics in a few.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Andy. Let me know if I can help in any way getting your Cruiser back in shape.

Nice pics, Troll!
Thanks for the concern, Alex. No troubles, really. Just some cable pulling practice for the Florida boys before GSMTR. Got Marshall some practice too - thanks for the assistance Troll.

At least I have some permanent souvenirs from Capt. Jim's place. Man, that's quite a driveway! ;) The old 100 is becoming quite the trail rig but it's such a beast size wise, it's never good when the width from your right to left tires is wider than the trail, esp. when there are 50-100 foot drops right off the trail!! :D That and my AT tires filled with dirt on the really steep parts (did someone say steep??) and I just spun from there. Need some more aggressive rubber. That will have to wait for the 80 project to be finished.

You know, I kind of felt bad by delaying the ride a bit, esp since Marshall and Becca didn't have too much longer to ride. Though I will say Marshall, I don't believe you would have willingly done the portion that immediately followed your departure. No statement about your intestinal fortitude or 40's ability - just don't see you thrashing the living crap out of your rig like those guys do. Those guys are nuts!! :D

Can't say enough good things about Capt. Jim, Bill, Mike and Todd. Insane rigs and great guys to boot. Not once did they give me crap for slowing our progress - esp when I almost rolled. They were patient and helpful and at the end of the day, gave me props for breaking the mold of how most 100's are used and giving it a go.

Really wished I had my 40 when I got there, she would have been right at home. Also wish I took more pictures but I was a bit distracted with the extraction exercises and then left my camera in the 100 when I parked it for the rest of the exploration (or making crop circles as Capt. Jim joked). Bill got some good shots of my predicament, I'm sure he'll post them after GSMTR.

Kudos to JP for being the adventurous, fearless leader as always!!

Good times, can't wait to ride with the Florida crew again. That was one awesome day on the trails. Thanks fellas!!

Oh yeah, good shots Marshall. Too bad you can't really see the "Oh s***" position of my truck through the leaves in the pulled cable shot.

Good stuff for sure.

you forgot to throw in the not so bright part there :grinpimp: ......... I was feeling pretty good after our trail blazing adventure at the capt's place and on my way home about an hour from my house I noticed a little trail running down one of the powerlines. I couldn't help but check it out, and doing so I broke the cardinal rule of NEVER WHEEL ALONE!!! The powerline trail was fine it had some good hill climbs and rutted up sections....... all was going well until I came to a creek crossing at the bottom of one of the hills. It was very over grown and the trail was faint (should have been a sign to turn around:o ) I decided to give it a go, and was having a little trouble crossing it and finally decided just to power thru it. what I didn't know because it was hidden by the dense vegitation was there was a large boulder directly in my path on the other side. The momentum I had built crossing the creek slammed my front pumpkin into the boulder and as a result I was high centered in a bad kind of way neither front tire was touching the ground and I had no traction in there rear. I was screwed to say the least........ and of course I had no winch and not even my Hi-lift jack with me. I was a mile in on the trail and in a very remote corner of McCormick co. with huge thunderstorm popping up all around........... I was really kicking myself for being such a dumbass!!! However by some miracle of God, I had full cell service  and was lucky enough that my sister was at home, I got her to bring me my hi-lift..... it only took her 2hours to get to me too:doh: ...... while waiting for her I used my axe to cut down trees and tried to make wedges to dislodged my front diff. but to no avail, I tried stacking rocks under the tires to get a moments traction......... nothing I did worked, this was probaly the worst I have ever been stuck. After an hour of working I decided to start hiking out to meet my sister at the start of the powerline trail, I came across two copper heads and a water mocasin and managed to have 6 ticks hitch a ride one me on my long hike out. My sister finally arrived around 3pm with the jack, and I proceeded to hike the mile back to the cruiser with the heavy ass hilift slung over my shoulder up and down all the steep ass hills between me and my 40. Once at the cruiser with the hi-lift I used it to jack up the front end high enough to clear the diff. and I got in to cruiser and rev'ed the engine to about 3k and popped the clucth in reverse launching me backwards off the boulder and slamming me sideways into the the creek bed, but I was finally free :bounce: :bounce2: So I quickly tucked tail turned around and headed out......... I learned a hard lesson, always have recovery equipment with you and never ever wheel alone....... these are all things I have long know, but I let my curiousity and bad judgement get the best of me, but it all worked out in the end:cheers:

I am just sorry I have no picks, it would help you guys really appreciate the situation I was in :princess:

Dude, I'd call you a knuckle head but I've needed plenty of help myself recently. Helluva story, glad you made it out OK.

It had to be WAY later than 3 when your sister arrived though, we didn't leave Capt. Jim's until a bit after 6! You should have called us, we could have headed your way.

Man, I bet Denali was seriously pissed at you - between the additional wheeling after a FULL day, ticks, snakes, getting stuck and a LONG hike, I bet she was grumpy!!

Any damage to the diff? Sounds like you slammed it hard.

How does the location of those power lines relate to the ones we rode around?

Andy, this was on Sunday morning :D, I went to anderson after Jim's and passed out.........

I was about an hour away from Augusta, when I decided to take the powerline trail. The diff. is fine, just some scratches, but I did bend the ends of a few of my U-bolts pretty bad.

as for Denali she was loving life :D....

Ah, that makes more sense.

More bent stuff? Oh well, at least you have a straight tie rod now. :D

Your 40 just keeps getting more and more character - at least that's what I am trying to tell my 100 is happening to it... :D

yes our rigs have lots of CHARACTER

I just admire you for have the balls to wheel the 100....... you have to be one of a few, especially taking on body damage....... you da man :grinpimp:
