What is the height of the Dobinson drawers? They appear to be around 11 inches. The Dobinson drawers are about the same height as the second row folded down.

That's about right. 11.25"What is the height of the Dobinson drawers? They appear to be around 11 inches.
How do you like that robinson system? Quiet?
Dobinson…How do you like that robinson system? Quiet?
Mine is quiet. Once in a while you might hear a bering rattling over some bumps. Overall, one of the best purchases for my LXHow do you like that robinson system? Quiet?
I can't seem to find any verbiage anywhere that states these drawers create a flat surface when the second row seats are folded. Do any (or all) do that? I want to pull the trigger on one of these pre-fab versions but cannot decide which one might have the perfect height to match the second row seat backs. I guess I could measure..... But maybe someone here has practical info on that?
I did. I believe the best system for sleeping (or flat area) is the Air Down Gear Up system which actually has a sleeper option.Did you resolve this? I'm in the same boat, more or less. I want one side of my LC to be a sleep platform, but the other side to be pretty much as is because of a very long, tall narrow portage requirement.
Superb job Chris!Nice job!
Thanks for the link. Will edit the original post later this week.Thought these should be added to the list. The less expensive setup with wings looks like it's $899 shipped in the US. Similar to the Land Shark KISS concept in complexity: 200 Series Land Cruiser/LX570 Ultralite Drawer System | SHW Offroad - https://shwoffroad.com/product/200-series-land-cruiser-lx570-ultralite-drawer-system/
The fancier setup looks comparable to some of the more expensive setups.

If we end up getting some we'll do a video of the install and our thoughts, but the lead time is a bit too much for the rush we're in to get this truck finished and back to mapping work. After speaking with the company it sounds like a killer simple setup. Nothing to break, not much if anything to squeak and it's super lightweight.
Cheers,
If there is one change to be made, that would be to make the drawers one inch shorter in length. The drawers are right up against the second row seats. They can be reclined but then are squished into the drawers which will cause wear. This issue is known.
Some pictures ... both of my drawers have covers so they can both be used as a work space.

The alucab tilting slide works well for a fridge on top. This would kill the sleeper option though.I hope my post isn’t to much of a dredging-up of an old thread…
I have some small dilemmas.
Right now I have a home-made unit that consists of a standard single drawer at the back on the passenger side that is mated to a longer “trunk” that is perpendicular to the drawer which you open from inside the truck. Second row is removed. I made the trunk portion level with the drawer to form the bed, on top, but angled it at the bottom to match the slope of the floor. The result is a very deep trunk that holds a ton of stuff.
I’m trying to replicate that kind of storage space in something lighter than my wooden setup.
My first thought was a passenger side drawer that will go all the way to the back of front seats. I had a Truck Vault in my work truck and I know they make them that long, as do companies like Weathervuard. However, both are beasts as far as weight. I just thought there might be a lighter alternative in the off-road world.
I love the ADGU unit, but I don’t know if I could store as much in the space that their bed top folds back and covers.
I also don’t know where I would put my fridge. Anyone ever put a fridge on top of the ADGU unit? It would be a little high, but could be an option.
Any insight is welcome!
