The alucab tilting slide works well for a fridge on top. This would kill the sleeper option though.
Thanks for the input. I travel solo, so it’s a one-person sleeper. But you aren’t kidding: that slide is wide enough for two fridges side by side.

Good idea, though.

The small version of this would let one person sleep next to it.

Both Trekboxx and Goose Gear also have 2nd row systems that allow for a full length sleeper. They both replace portions (or all) of the second row seating.

I have an ADGU premier system with a 60/40 sleeper, and it is a good product dollar for dollar. Their second row/sleeper support piece is a bit of a skeletal solution, but it works. I used it for ~10,000 miles this summer.

I just ordered a Trekboxx Bravo system with the second row platform storage box option. It can run either or both of the 60/40 sections. Now that one of my kids is grown up, I generally leave the 60% section out. I will run the 60% section of the Trekboxx full time and add the 40% section for big trips.
I really like the Tekbox system, though with 6k worth of seats on the way, I’d probably end up divorced if i pulled the trigger on that, even though they seem to have exactly what I want: a one-side sleeper.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I’m going to try revamping my setup once again and build a better slider to go with it.

Not usually mentioned among offroad drawer/sleeper options is the Truck Vault. In almost 30 years, I had multiple TV units and they were all smooth as butter. The company is not yet all-in with off-roader units, though they’re getting there. The downside is that they are VERY heavy. But their stuff is hard to beat for firearms (though I preferred having both of mine accessible via a BigSky rack).

I have been looking at these but the rubbing on the seats concerns me a bit. Is there a way to shorten these as a DIY project. There is not a lot of info or pictures of these online, but do you see a way to add attach a sleeping platform that rests on the 2nd row seats like the ADGU and Landshark did?
Sorry for the late reply as your post came while I was on vacation. One *might* be able to shorten them as the shelves do not go all the way to back. I would have to remove the top to measure exactly how much space there is between the shelf and the end cover but a rough measurement is that 1.5" so one could remove an inch. The box is sheet metal so that would be easy to refab. The issue would be the framework.

As for a sleeping platform, I would not bother attaching anything. I would simply get a piece of 3/8" or 1/2" PVC board that is 24"x48 and lay that in with the head rests for support. With a thick pad over it one will not notice the sight incline.

Any body running this as an affordable exped platform option?

After a very long delay I finally installed my Big Country Savute dual drawer system in my LC200. Overall I am pleased and will offer a few thoughts.
....
If there is one change to be made, that would be to make the drawers one inch shorter in length. The drawers are right up against the second row seats. They can be reclined but then are squished into the drawers which will cause wear. This issue is known.

Today I had a bit of time to investigate what could be done about the drawers being right up against the second row seats. The center console, being "foamy" takes the brunt of the squishing. The seats not so much but some. At this point mine are fully upright which for a passenger would not be comfortable.

There is approximately 1.25" between the end of the drawer and the sheet metal endplate. It would be rather straight forward to trim 1/2" - 3/4". Trimming a 1/2" would butt the endplate right up against a bottom support. Cutting 3/4" would mean it would overlap. One could also move the support by drilling new holes.

Trimming a 1/2"-3/4" from the two side panels though having a shallow "U" shape would require a straight cut. After being trimmed a few holes would need to be drilled for the end cap and top sheet.

There is also a center panel that would also need to be trimmed. That would not be quite as straight forward as there is 90 degree tab. Two options, the simplest would be to make a straight cut and from the extra fabricate a 90 degree corner and bolt that on. Or make the appropriate cut and bend the sheet metal to make the tab with a straight jaw sheet metal seamer. Then drill the appropriate holes.

Doing this trimming I would think would be easy with an angle grinder or a sheet metal nibbler. I am not a sheet metal worker so others might have better ideas. Regardless I think it would be rather straightforward.

The last bit would be to trim the same amount from the wood top sheet. That would be easy peasy as all one would need to is pull back the carpet, make the cut, then glue the carpet back down, trimming the excess. Afterward drilling new holes.

While doing all this I decided the first thing I am going to try is to router the wood top sheet at 45 degrees. That will take some of the initial pressure off the back of the seats. That will be pretty simple, pull back the carpet, make the cut, then glue the carpet back down, trimming the excess.

Overall though I think Big Country could and should revise their design of the side and center by 1/2" changing nothing else and remove the problem. It would leave 3/4" between the end of the drawer and the end plate.

If anyone is a sheet metal worker please let me know your thoughts.

Killer deal! Once installed, please post a few photos here and I’ll link post in the Ironman section of the list.

Can you confirm the ADGU and TrekBoxx weights?
ADGU site says the SS1 system for the 200 LC weighs about 150 pounds for dual drawer + sleeping platform but there are options like adding tables and lids or swapping one of the drawers for a fridge

We’re about to pull the trigger on the ADGU drawers with the Dometic cd30 fridge option but instead of dual battery under the hood we’re probably going with a Bluetti power station in the back. Is shortening a drawer and mounting a power station in the drawer area a possibility? I hate to lose the cargo space but then I hate to lose the drawer space… I don’t think a dual battery with a AGM would run the fridge long enough either and the inverter and extra plugs on the power station are a nice bonus.

Unless you are really good a tetris a 30l for a fridge is pretty small. FWIW National Luna is now making a drawer fridge, I have not seen any drawer mfg incorporate it into the system yet.

You will probably want to talk to ADGU about shorter drawers. But with any power station there needs to be air flow around them as such I would not enclose it within the drawer framework. Also the beauty of a power pack is accessibility of the additional ports. I use the USB ports on mine way more than I thought I would. I charge phones, have a portable mini bluetooth speaker for music, and recharge a camp light. Having it tucked away would mean having cords always plugged in so to be able to access those ports.

FWIW, I finally decided that for my needs removing the 2nd row seat on the passenger side was the best option. The fridge (50l National Luna) fits perfectly. And the power pack (Enphase IQ1500) fits in the footwell. That gives me full drawer and cargo space usage and if needed room for a pax or even squeeze two in for short distances.

Call and talk to ADGU - the current set up for the drawer has space behind the fridge for a power station; however, I spoke to them last week and they said they are changing the fridge drawer set up and it's now not an up charge because it doesn't have a drawer underneath the fridge. I don't know if that means there is no longer space for the battery behind the fridge but they are quick to respond and they will show you videos of the two different fridge drawers.

I’m sure glad I posted about this, thanks a ton for the info!

I’ll call them first thing Tuesday.

They're online right now. I have been chatting with them. This is the video [] that shows the current fridge drawer that they're retiring. If you go to 5:13 you can see the drawer fully extended and see the small battery generator behind it. If you look at the infos video you can see the new fridge drawer style. They don't show it fully extended like the LC video and I think that's because it is just fridge slides but it's the same price as a non-locking drawer now. I've been going back and forth on options and they keep suggesting the dual drawer with slide out tables.

MVP post, very helpful, thanks for the deets!

I definitely need to call and sort out exactly what my options are. I’m glad I came here to inquire and wish I had sooner as I’ve been corresponding with my install shop but we haven’t ordered anything yet.

We don’t need a big fridge. The idea behind this build is for our non camping trips where we have a rental house or lodging, we like to bring our own food and want space for frozen steaks and/or whatever road snacks. Losing the storage space with a traditional dual zone fridge isn’t what we’re after. 12 hours of battery time to run the fridge should be enough… there may be times where we want more but with the fast alternator charging options a half hour idle time could net a 60-80% charge depending on power station capacity.

I can’t seem to find that iceco drawer fridge model… I wonder how it compares to the Dometic. Seems like the 12V fridge market is always in flux.

If that is your main use case I would consider a plain ole cooler. I like having road snacks /drinks easily available while driving. Which means having the cooler close by. You can load a cooler in the house, take it to rig, then haul the cooler into the rental house. If leaving it overnight one could get a thermo-electric cooler. The Dometic does not come with baskets so you will have pack / unpack it at the rig. Drawer systems are great but sliding fridges whether in-situ or not take up a lot of space.

Here's the link to the Dometic fridge ADGU uses - Dometic CoolMatic CD 30 - https://share.google/vZ596TWqp7v9OUnHR. The Dometic site didn't have the specs on the consumer site when I looked the other day.

My concern about the drawer fridge is what do you do when it dies - will there be another model that fits there? ADGU said there are a few other fridges that use the exact same case size and fit in the system as well (Engel sb30 and ironman might also fit.) They like the dometic for its robust simplicity.

Some of the Iceco standalone fridges have a magnetic battery pack you can snap onto the fridge and get something like 11 hrs run time.

We’ve been doing the cooler thing in our minivan and, while it does work, it’s a PITA and takes up more space because of the required ice or ice packs, plus it’s heavy to lug around. The 85L snowmster in our camper came with baskets but we usually don’t pack them in the fridge, they typically carry the stuff to the fridge then stay home… it allows for Tetris style packing that my wife prefers. The minivan has lost its roadtrip duty to the LX due to overall comfort but we’re losing that cavernous space for all kinds of crap. Our thoughts were the drawer fridge would free up the cooler space and the drawer houses our typical daily stuff we tend to grab often depending on trip. This has worked great in the cruiser, the drawers there have kicked all the a$$ so we figured it a no brainer for the LX. There is one annual trip where we take a seine net and some associated fishing gear so that may find its way into a roof top carrier. This all sounds like more trouble than it’s worth when I already mentioned a larger minivan. I should add that a recent trip in the minivan following a 3 week trip in the cruiser elicited complaints from both the kids and adults regarding comfort and road noise. We can do 700 plus miles in the cruiser without issue but that 6 hour drive to the beach was a major wake up call to the differences between the Sienna and Cruiser. It’s the fancy Sienna as well so I I can’t imagine what that base model would be like.

I’ve already been down the cd30 rabbit hole, mainly because that’s what’s been listed on the ADGU site in the 200 series drawer options. But thanks for posting that.

I hear your concern on the “what if?”, it’s a concern for me as well but it does look like there are options and the van life crowd seems to like the drawer style so there is some demand out there. Worst case we go back to traditional drawer… idk, I’ll cross that bridge if I ever get to it.

This battery pack think tho is very attractive. This could change up my plans bigly. The extra USB’s on the power station is nice and saves me from hard wiring some instead. Our cruiser has a bunch hardwired and I really prefer all the clean tidy nature of the hardwire with my dual battery but I don’t think a under the hood AGM is up to the task of running the fridge and I don’t want to go LiPO4 under the hood, even though there are some manufacturers saying there’s are good to go in there.
