Serious question, so, you gonna mount the hi lift to the rack now?

So I shattered my back glass...

ahhh good times, Ankur :)

I forgot to mention, i found a complete white top hatch for sale in Helen for about $275, only problem was it was a little rusty...

JK...

It was rust free :flipoff2:

So I removed my hatch a little while ago and couldn't for the life of me get the wiring out for the wiper, so I had to cut the wires. Hoping they are marked the same way on the replacement hatch so I can reconnect them... not that I ever use the damn wiper anyway.

Now I have a trash bag taped to the gaping hole where the rear hatch used to be. Keeping it klassy...

That sucks! I had the hi-lift slip off the front of the ARB at URE and it shaved about 5" of powder coating off the upper bar work. The other time I had the rear end jacked up on the trail, a rock under the 100 shifted and the hi-lift just slid out from under the frame and smashed the tail light. No body damage, but I did crush the tail light. I always have mine on the roof rack, safest place for it (given you have quality mounts, and it's secured properly).

Well. If you have a buddy with a tractor with a front end loader, you can fix that. Put a 2x4 in between the plates, after removing all the access holes. And use a big bolt under the bucket to press the plate and straighten the hatch.

I was waiting for a rusty hatch to come up forsale with good glass. I think it would fit right in now. It's got the factory curve in it again.

My engine killed going up a steep hill. And I busted my back glass and dented the roof and dented the hatch and dented the tailgate, but didn't touch the bumper. :)

The center of the back curve was about 3" in towards the front compared to it normally like 2" towards the back.

That sucks that the bumper went up like that. Are they that loose, or just a freek accident. I plan on building my own one day. ;)

The bumper didnt move at all, the jack's foot came down hard and dug in, sheering one of the two grade 8 bolts holding the jack to the mounting location. since the other bolt was fine, the jack pivoted on it right into the window because physics is a douche bag...

That SUCKS - you were at the perfect angle for that tree to do the most amount of body damage to your truck. I would have much rather used a banged up bumper as an excuse to upgrade than have to fix all those body panels.

Yeah. I thought it was ALOT worst from inside. I have to say though. I'm proud to drive a 62. Basically the roof took most of the damage, yeah I know the tailgate got some, but the frame/bumper got None. And the roof didn't shift. Everything opens like it never happened.

They said I was doing 15-20 by the time I hit the tree. :(

Poll: Should I paint the whole rig Rustoleum Industrial Choice 1600 Beige?

Yes or No - feel free to add supporting comments. I have to paint the new hatch anyway, and it is doubtful if I will be able to make it match the patina on the body.

I would just paint it white to slightly resemble the rest of the truck. Your truck is too nice to rattle can.

HELL NO, get that crazy rattle can fantasy out of your mind right now!!!!!! So, since its not going to match exactly, just paint it tie dye or something.

Peace, brother!
BTW, your avatar is way less cooler than your previous one. Way less.

I concur. I also agree on not reprinting entire with rattle can.
