Curious if anyone has run the Magnuson SC on the 16-21 MY. Know Harrop is a popular option but wanted to see if anyone is running this setup.

TIA

GDL

I have a Magnusson on my 2013. Happy to offer any info needed, but understand it is in a different MY range.
Do you tow? If so, how has the SC changed your towing experience?

here's one:

I do tow with it. One of the many reasons I dropped the coin that I did was because of the setup. Here is what I tow with it:

It has been a great setup. I usually am towing from SLC Utah down to Hurricane and Moab, about a 4-5 drive, through some mountain and canyon hills. I drive it pretty conservative, keeping eye on temps. It has the Magnusson SC on it, tuned, Cat back stainless dual exhaust. Power is all there when you need it, even on the hills. Some key things that make the towing doable is the WD hitch, and brake controller. That keeps the RV in line, reduces the sway, and makes it track great down the road. I also have a big brake kit installed. Ceika 6 piston fronts and 4 piston rears with drilled and slotted rotors. Amazing brakes. Put you through the windshield brakes. Those really help in slowing things down, even in a panic situation. I have the OBDIILink to watch temps and make sure trans and engine temps stay in check. So far, even in 100 degree heat, I don't see those needles moving much at all.
The down side....MPG.... as to be expected. Fully loaded Im probably close to #8000 with all the gear, water, and bikes. Heavy for sure. But I have been super happy with how it rolls and how well it does.

Unladen, the LX screams when you hit the pedal. Freeway overtaking is a breeze, and off the line it will put you in your seat. Plus the whine of a SC spooling up is cool too.
All in all, I have loved it. It allows us to go off grid to some remote places, with comfort and power.
The AHC system has been flawless. It does a great job of handling the weight and movement, it keeps the rig level and handles some decently rough roads while pulling the trailer. With the exception of a sensor lift, I haven't touched a thing on the AHC.
Works great.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you want any other info.

That's good to hear, thanks for sharing!

I tow a similarly sized trailer with the same LX and find that it works great in 95% of scenarios, but is lacking on power on steep grades (6.5%, at 1000m - 1600m elevation). The idea of installing a supercharger to help with this has popped into my head once or twice...

I think that adding the SC will make up for those grades for you, no problem. You won't regret it. Even when your MPG goes down into single digits. Having the right hitch and brake controller are key for towing for sure. And keeping an eye on temps to make sure everything is happy. I have loved the setup. It was worth the initial investment. Buy once, cry once, enjoy.

which tune do you have on yours?
I am meeting with Yotawerx next week. Currently the truck has the stock tune.

I am unsure of the tune. It was setup from when I purchased the rig. I do have the contact info of the shop that installed it and can see if they have records of what was done. I have wondered what tunes are available, or if it is more of a custom thing. Not sure what I want different, but would like to know what other options are available if I wanted to go a different route.

This all sounds incredibly badass. Let's see some pics of this brake kit

For the Magnuson they provide the tune via VFTuner (the tuner comes with the s/c and then you fill out some forms and they send you the tune file). I have it ready to go in but we'll do that last. You can always customize from there. I plan on putting mine on a dyno, just for peace of mind that everything is running safely.
